I sound like a novice even suggesting this, but Tom McDonald at 383k has to be considered

3 NAB matches with 98 being his lowest scores (2 other matches were tons) and has started with back to back tons

5 games with 98 being his lowest this year

Even considering a cheeky Lumumba to McDonald correction trade. Lumumba hasn't been bad at all, but that extra cash allows me to turn Cockatoo into NVB, and reckon there is no big loss by Lumumba to McDonald anyway

McDonald has started exceedingly well and has had an excellent preseason but he's still a key position player, that means you will have plenty of down days which could cost you league matches. He's only ever averaged 70's in the past so it's a big leap to get to 90+. Having missed his 2 big hauls you would need to be banking on an AA quality season to justify him as a keeper. Melbourne have a red hot Adelaide next week, followed by Richmond, Freo, Swans & Hawthorn. That's a tough stretch and it's hard to imagine McDonald churning out similar scores.

Tom McDonald is this year's Cale Hooker; will pump out some big scores in a relatively easy early draw and suck people in. Then he'll drop back to the form he's had over the previous few years. Surely you'd only jump on now if you were prepared to jump off at the bye.

I was one who jumped onto Hunt this week.

1. The 117 he scored in the first round is handy
2. He is always listed in the midfield
3. Jaksch got injured.

Still he should avg more than most 400k+ defenders IMO...
The Tigers rate Hunt quite highly and he'll get a lot of disposals each game playing out of the centre. Problem is that he's not the cleanest user of the ball and his scores will probably go up and down a bit each week.

All things considered, he's not that bad of a sideways for Goodes.

Played a fair bit of basketball with Tom back when he was 16-17 and he was a jerk, so I'm not selecting him on principle!

However I do see a few signs of him being a 2014 Cale Hooker style pick up, but he could easily make a quick 150k and be sideways to Malceski or another fallen premium.

Haha, this is the best type of reason to base your trading on ;)
