LaHug

5 years. 5 long years I've been doing this and all I've got out of it is a HoF induction, lots of appreciation, some satisfaction, and a bit of fun. Actually, that's not half bad! Now if only someone would pay me... ;)

I'm back again! For those new to the forums, each week I will tell you some statistics on a player's last 3 games, their last 3 against this week's opponent, and their last 3 at this ground. I will try to give some details of their opponents recent stinginess or generosity, and I might even look at the weather (if I'm organised). I will also do a quick overview on my thoughts and have a guess at their score for this week. From all this, I'll give you my top 5 captain choices for the week. As per usual, if you have any requests, let me know and I'll see what I can do (no promises).

Part 1 gave us no loophole options worth keeping (unless you went with Brandon Ellis, I guess, but I'd be willing to bet that nobody did) so I'm here with Part 2 to tell you where put the big C.

The thoughts:

Ablett
Is he still injured? Will he get the Fyfe treatement and cop the red vest when the Sun's are up 40 at 3QT? GAJ is good. GAJ is good against Melbourne. GAJ is good at the MCG. But my gut is screaming RED VEST! My prediction is if he plays the full game but I don't think he will. Prediction - 130

Parker
Very good against the Bombers last year. Expect his good form against them to continue. Prediction - 115

Franklin
Dominates the Bombers consistently. I would expect him to kick a bag against them again but it shouldn't be enough to make you to start him if you weren't going to already. Prediction - 115

Heppell
Loves playing the Swans and could keep improving this year. Prediction - 115

Rockliff
The only question to ask is this. Will the new additions to the Lions make Rocky better, worse, or the same? If the same, expect him to dominate this week. Smashes the Pies and was so good at home last year. Prediction - 140

Beams
I expect him to do well against his old side but that's purely my gut speaking. However, he has shown he can play at the Gabba and had a good pre-season. Definitely look at him. Prediction - 125

Pendlebury
The Lions were incredibly generous with scoring last year and that's while they were crap. Pendles is decent against them but I expect him to do worse than his average against a vastly improved midfield. Prediction - 100

Sidebottom
Same as Pendles but slightly better history. The other question is whether he'll be better or worse without his mate Beams. Prediction - 105

Swan
My gut says Swan gets more midfield time this year with Beams gone and, I believe, good health. If scores of old come back, he'll dominate, but let's not go that far... yet. Prediction - 115

Treloar
Sucks against the Saints and at Etihad. Yuck. Prediction - 90

Greene
Ricochet pointed out to me that Greene finished so strongly last year because key members of the Giants midfield were missing. Bring them back, add Griffen, and Greene might not do that well at all. I'll give him good scores once he proves his worth. For now, a poor record against the Saints means no way I'd look at him. Prediction - 80

Sloane
Has scored well against North before but not so much last season. Good at home but I'd be cautious. Prediction - 100

Barlow
Almost always good for a 100+ score and was decent against Port last year. Assuming he's over all his niggles, he should be good. Prediction - 105

Fyfe
Two of his best three scores last year were against Port and he's good at home. Yummy! Prediction - 120

Lewis
Geelong aren't his best team and that's enough for me to steer clear. Prediction - 95

Johnson
Other than in the finals last year, Johnsons loves to destroy the Hawks. If you're starting him, look at the big C. Prediction - 130

Selwood
Wasn't good against the Hawks last year (other than in the finals) but has a good record against them. I expect him to do well. Prediction - 110

The verdict:
1.   Rockliff (140)
2.   Johnson (130)
3.   Ablett* (130)
4.   Beams (125)
5.   Fyfe (120)

*GAJ is a red vest candidate. Be careful.

Requests:

Gray - Requested by LF
2014 avg: 96.4
Best 3 of 2014: 137 vs. Carlton, 124 vs. St Kilda, 121 vs. Sydney
Last 3 against Fremantle: 95, 113, 99 (102 avg)
Last 3 at Subi: 95, 113, 115 (108 avg)

Loves playing at Subiaco and was solid against the Dockers in all three of last year's outings. He very rarely scores well enough to make him your captain but, against Freo, he should at least be serviceable. Prediction - 110

Sorry this took so long, guys. As I said before, I had to finalise my spreadsheet to make this easier. It's finalised now (YAY) so everything's super quick. It might still have errors so please let me know if you see any mistakes.

Cheers!

Jack Redden if you would be so kind

Sorry, didn't get time. I left it all too late.

Was feeling quite smug with trading GAJ to Rocky last minute... Now off with flowered ribs... Joys of fantasy  >:(

And he was comfortably dominating before then. I almost brought him and GAJ in (was gonna go both) but then pulled out last minute to strengthen up other areas. Lucky me!

Dodge a bullet mate! Yeah he was killing it up till that stage! I reckon he will miss a couple, he didn't look too good the poor bugger!

Ricochet
