Think names like Higgins, Didak and Cloke. He fits in the category. Just no.

where did Didak come from?

Whyalla, South Australia.
well that explains everything

Do people really think that teams play 6 forwards? Zorko will play as a high half forward (basically another midfielder who is more likely to kick goals) just like he did in 2014. The same role as Deledio. I don't see you all writing off Lids. Zorko is a gun player and even more of a gun SCer. He outperformed Goddard, Buddy and Deledio last year when you take games played into account.

As bowyanger said, someone has to kick the goals. Zorko loves a sausage roll and he could boot 25+ for the year while averaging 20+ possessions and those numbers will put him in the top tier.

Excellent POD.

He will kick much more than 25 I reckon unless they tag him every week

Think Chappy in his prime and what made him a great player at the Handbaggers - Zorko has the players around him now to take the focus away and to give it to him on a platter when he is free

Pretty accurate kick also

I don't think his role will be too different from last year where he kicked 18 goals. Should be around the same mark IMO.

Slightly off topic but the lack of goalkickers at the Lions means that the mids will have to kick goals, which means D. Beams is a lock to be a top 8 mid again and might even be #1. People will say he will get tagged but teams tried that when he was on fire at Collingwood in his best year and he smashed every tag that came his way.

Yeah Beams had the sixth best ave. last year so he is no slouch - he knows how to get the pill and what to do with it

If anything he has gone to a team that has better mid players around him than last years Pies - its surprising no one is talking him up as much as Fyfe when Beams has had no interruptions to his pre season (Fyfe has)

People banging on about Rocky, Redden & Beams stealing points off each other need to have a look at Fyfe, Barlow & Mundy's record playing together, or even Pendles, Swan, Beams & Sidebum 2 years ago

FWIW he averaged 103 taking out that gastro game

Wouldn't start him myself, but could be a good POD

What category even is that haha. Like every single player here is different.

SC nightmare category. These guys tease you then produce mares so far from their best it's not funny.

quinny88

Wouldn't start him. Could quite possibly go 100+ again but his midfield minutes will be lower than ever this year you would think.
Will wait and see

Hagebear

Locked and loaded for me. Won't cop a tag and will roam free across half forward doing as he pleases.

Ricochet

tags? he's a fwd, he'll get a defender responsible for him just like every other fwd.

Baha - back in the old days or in bush league this goes on

AFL today is about protecting space - a tag is where someone stands right beside him, gets blocked by others and generally the tagger sacrifices 90% of any attempt to get the ball - wearing his opponent like a glove, not playing an attacking role in any way

There is no way all forwards get treated this way - nor do all defenders play this way

A defender still goes to him mate. They slide between each other so its not the same defender, but he won't run around by himself
Just because they call it zoning and guard space doesn't mean they don't go to fwds in their area

Yes at kick ins and stoppages your right

H1bb3i2d

An AFL defender's first job is still to stop their man from having an influence.

That aside, I think he'll be a great scorer, he doesn't need huge midfield minutes to score well like most are making out. But an average of 100 for a guy priced at 99 isn't going to give you a jump on everyone else as a POD.

Ringo

With the lions focus being locking ball in the forward 50 Zorko will rack up tackles and contested possessions as well, Still do not think he will average over 100 but 95 in reason.

Remember Christensen will also be a small rotating through as well,

Maybe a POD for you though
