Hey guys,

My move interstate, new job, and general lack of awareness have all combined to mean I have missed every single game of the NAB and have no idea what's going on. Here is my first crack at a team based on a hour's research through P&T Board, DT Talk, and a that little space in my brain that tries to store everything you guys say on the forum.

I know I've been less than helpful during the preseason, just lurking and modding when needed, but here's the deal...

Help me fix my team and I'll return this year with my famous LaHug's Captains! Well... I like to think it's famous.



I assume, as per most pre-seasons, I'm missing a key rookie or two, I've picked at least one injured player, and I've missed the ridiculously underpriced guy that every other team has. Please help me identify them.

Can't see much wrong here LH! You've covered most lines really well! Brodie Smith at D1 may set you back though! He's been poor this NAB challenge and wouldn't trust him there! Nathan Freeman hasn't really done well anything, would trade to Cam Ellis-Yolmen and chuck Cripps on field who has proved himself in the NAB! There also lots of unnecessary $$$ on that forward line, Hogan really isn't worth it IMO, he'll average 50's and is too expensive to sit there! Also I think Clarke is now field worthy so you could also trade Salem to someone cheaper too if you want! Honeychurch, Lambert and McCarthy are all options! Nice selection of mid pricers and premos across the board! One last thing is I would only have 1 of NVB and Rich! Maybe upgrade one to a cheaper premiums like Griffen, Neale or Selwood!

Really solid team overall!

I'd suggest going Ibbotson or Shephard to Lumumba, looks certain to play big mid time in a struggling side, and is a safer bet then either of those two imo.

I think you really need Beams in your mids, I can't see any "super premos"there at the moment as Barlow doesn't fill me with confidence, and I rate him over all of the premos you have got there, he will go 110+ and provide you with a good captain option. Similar to Money, I reckon you should only have one of Rich and van Berlo, and trade the other to someone like Griffen ideally or maybe Neale or Scooter.

I'm liking Bartel over lids at the moment, lids has had a couple injury issues and although seems to be past them, I find it really hard to go past a Bartel who is playing large midfield minutes. Not a lot in it though to be fair, and fair enough if your Richmond faith is biasing you  :P

If I turn Freeman, Salem, and Hogan into cheaper options, I should be able to upgrade a little bit. And I get what you're saying about needing a captain option but I don't like Rocky's price tag and I'm afraid of Ablett's injuries. Wasn't sure what people were thinking of Beams at a new club but I'll look at him. I do think Sidebum will be 110+ each week though now that Beams is gone and he'll live in the mids. Could go the other way though...

I think I managed to strengthen every line and still have some cash leftover! Might still have something wrong but happier with this team. What do you all think?

Think you've hit most of the marks. If GAJ is named Round 1 I'd use the spare money to upgrade Treloar to him.

As obvious as that is, I probably would have missed it. Great call! That'll also give me a captain option. Cheers :D

Or try and upgrade bellchambers to bontempelli. As nice as it is to have that coverage for the rucks I think it is wasted with fantasy. Two trades a week.

Hmm... I'm actually thinking about ditching Bellchambers because of the ASADA stuff. Food for thought. Thanks :)
