Really? Let's just do a quick check based on the past 4 years.

Taylor            vs     Gibbo 
83, 94, 86, 76        92, 78, 78, 89

Taylor's past 3 years have been statistically superior but Gibbo may get more freedom, could go either way

Lumumba        vs         Goodes
77, 88, 71, 70       26* (2 games only),  91

Different role for Lumumba so I'm calling this a dead heat, Goodes looked to be in stellar form in the NAB Cup

Pendlebury             vs             Dangerfield

Clearly Pendles has the edge but I'm predicting the gap to close as Danger returns to his best and Pendles drops 5 points off his average due to a lack of midfield support.

This is the selection that really sets the first team back, JPK is good for 115 (2014 avg affected by early subbing) and Newton is fringe 22. Personally I see Newton's selection as a major risk but even if he averages 75, that's 40 points down the gurglar.

Dead heat again, could go either way however there will be very little difference between these two by season's end. Nic Nat has had his preseason so 100 is on the cards, Maric has been elevated to leadership so he will be keen to lead from the front.

So given the evidence, I have to give the points to team 2, the gulf between JPK & Newton is unlikely to be bridged even if Newton meets all expectations.
