A new year, a new team!

(Already posted this in GMs thread but might get some more info from others here)
Team Name: The Jazz Club
Cash left: 3k

Def: Malceski, Hibberd, Waters, Seedsman, Goddard, NJ Brown (Z Jones, J Kolo)
Mid: Rocky, Gazza, Jelwood, Greene, Prestia, Rich, Newton, Freeman (Cripps, Vandenberg)
Ruc: Kreuzer, Leuey (Cox, King)
Fwd: Martin, Swan, Goddard, Tmitch, Hogan, Clark (Membrey, Blease)

- Defence is probably my most concerning area (in my mind) as I dont particularly think Brown will cut it there, most likely will see him moved at some point (seeing as this team is far from set in stone for R1 haha)
- NvB vs Rich? or both?
- Rucks are just stock standard it seems, nothing fancy there
- If Tmitch goes well in NAB I may look to keep, Blease was picked out of pure interest (as a Geelong fan myself Id love to see him shine at the Cattery but he might need changing)

Any pointers / notes you guys see, feel free to let us know!

Strong mid here, on the subject of Rich and van Berlo I can't see why you couldn't have both (not having check the bye rounds).

With the defence I think the approach that you have set out on could work ie: 2 premiums and midpricers like Waters and Seedsman. Waters has proven scoring ability although he goes at it a bit too hard sometimes, but it seems like every other year hes a good pick.

Can't fault the rucks

Forwards are good just try to avoid having too many key position rookies.

Jazzoskies

Cheers mate!

For Rich and NvB I guess I will have to see what happens in the NAB before making any informed decisions, unless the Crows come out and say NvB will tag again!

Heres hoping this year waters stays injury free and is one of his good seasons!

Yea my key position players are definitely not lacking, will have a reshuffle!

Jazz club looks goood mate, just gotta keep and eye on the back rooks to see if they are all playing..

Jazzoskies

Made a few adjustments
Cash left 17k
Any thoughts on the changes? I felt the cash generation from having both Rich and VB would be more useful to my team than having 2 120k rooks on my Fwd bench? Plus I really rate Devon Smith, especially from his end to 2014.

do you really think there will be 4 viable backline rookies? Good enough to have two of them on the field?

Jazzoskies

To be honest I have no idea what my final backline will look like, the rookie and mid pricer situation will probably be changing in my team up until R1 lockout haha.

Yeah I'm with you on that one mate! I'd love to have 2 backline rookies on the field and use the cash to stack my forward line!

Jazzoskies

After a break for a little while I have resumed my planning for to at least try and make a viable team for R1 haha. Made several changes and also just tried a few things. What do you guys think? In particular.. seeing what things would look like without rocky/gaz

DEFENCE: Looks ok but i think you need one of the top end premos (eski, simpson etc) just to make it look better, Id look at finding cash to possibly upgrade pearce to that player, with Crowley out i think Pearce will tag. Kep an eye on Brett Goodes being upgraded as well, if he does grab him insead of Smedts.

MIDFIELD: It's a good solid midfield, can't really complainm obviously with Ablett out it doesnt look as strong but we have no choice, i think it's really solid. I personally have the 4 premos, then Rich, then 3 rookies, but that's personal preference.

RUCKS:  Good rucks depending on if Essendon players get suspended or not, but for now it looks fine. However, i can't see any of the 2 on the bench playing.

FORWARD: Literally the exact same forward line as mine, nice and solid mate haha!

Jazzoskies

Cheers for the input Seeds!

Have made an update to what i think might be (depending on selections) my R1 team, unless you all see a glaring issue with it haha.
