def: Average defence. You'll have to get rid of Scharenberg as he will miss a few early rounds due to injury. As the amount of rookies in the defence that we assume that will get game early are thin, you may need to get another a premo or a breakout contender in there.

mid: Strong mid. Watson at a tasty price. Will be interesting how Rocky goes this season and whether he can maintain the 132 avg. imo, he will drop a bit but will still end up as a top 8 mid. Griffen is an interesting/risky pick. Wonder how he will go at a new club. Could look for another player at his price range for better output.

ruck: Risky but could pay off!

fwd: Strong fwd. Nice POD in Gray. I'll be waiting till he drops a bit in price before i pick him up. With a risky ruck combo, think its better to have belly in there. Better to be safe then sorry ;) Haven't seen Saad in a side till I saw this side! Will he be in their best 22? I honestly don't know. You should get Hogan in there. Perhaps; Out: Saad In: Hogan + $$

Like this side however there are few risky picks but then again high risks equals to high rewards! :D

Def; Solid but not great, will obviously need to get rid of Scharenberg. I suggest downgrading Smith (because he is coming of a breakout and there are better options) and simpson (too inconsistent, could pay off though, up to you) for Newnes, Lumumba, Birchall, Hurn, Ibbo, Geary to make cash.

Mids are very strong, not sold on NVB (i like the look of biggs) he will ave 60-70 but has good Js. Could be turned into a Krakouer or a rookie of a similar price bracket for upgrades elsewhere (depends on r1 rooks). Otherwise great mid.

Rucks are risky but could pay off. I have gone with nic nat as well and believe he could be top 5 ruckmen with a 105-110 ave without cox. Personally i have gone with Berger, same bye round so it doesnt matter much.

Strong fwds. once again, Clark is obvious value and has great JS compared to the other rookies but he will only ave 55-60 IMO so another downgrade may be neccasery (based on r1 selections) to a Lavarde, Hogan (is a must) Steele. Same with Saad.

I understand the logic with pickig expensive rookies due to JS but i feel as if that is hindering your defences/forwards score and total score. It may very well come off and you could make alot of money and be placed very nicely if trades are used well. Love your say on my team. Nice

Have I gone too strong in the Mids with this side?

Love the Goodes pick, do VFL SC points count this year?

Fid,

I like the defence. I think Heater is a lock this year - and I live to regret that assertion every year but once again I am saying it.
The 3 pricey 'mid pricers' are a good option.
Goodes - wait and see - may not make the cut.
Brown - yuck in terms of scoring potential so prefer a cash cow rookie here.

I think you have overspent in the guts. Surely a couple of these guys will drop a bit in price at some stage and I wonder about jumping on then - after a few rookies make cash for you.

Rucks - excellent but no cover.

Fwd - thinner here.

Maybe a F/R like Hale or Belly (riskier with ASADA etc) instead of Lonie and downgrade one of your mid guns to bankroll it.
