Newnes locked in (for time being  8))

Seriously looking at Fisher - if he can stay uninjured and retain his sweeping half back role he should rack up the stats. Will watch closely in NAB

I like fisher too as a scorer but 31 games in 3 years is what I worry about, rather get someone who may avg a little less but play 22

I hear you mate, totally agree. But I guess that's the thrill of supercoach and having your punts come off (or fail dismally!)

Let's see what the NAB brings

He turns 33 this year and I just don't think he is worth $445,000, more so with the amount of games he has played in 3 years

YoungGun

He scored fine last year coming back off injury and is much more fitter/motivated to get back into again this year. Proven scorer and should provide some confidence for coaches unlike many options that could flop and average 75

I currently have Lumumba, Fisher and Yeo, as well as Sammy Mayes  :o

I'm gonna keep an eye on Mayes too, but he's on the outskirts at the moment.

Have Yeo at D5 currently, and only 356k to spend so to get Mayes I'll have to free up 15k somewhere which is easier said than done...

None of them. Newnes has my interest but not until the NAB cup begins

I would walk past Newnes in the street and not know who he is..
Never heard of him until this pre season. Why is he so popular all of a sudden?

I've heard the standard "more midfield time" but doesn't fisher have more runs on the board?
If he stays injury free you're just about garunteed a 90+ average

He has been talked up by the Saints as a future captain at the end of his first season along with Jack Steven. I said in another thread great leaders don't make great fantasy footballers but he does have a few tricks and might be due to break out. I remember looking at him for a few dynasty type formats a couple of years ago and he started getting a bit more of the pill last season. If the Saints want to move him into a permanent mid role an 85 average is probably his floor meaning he will probably stay around the same price making him a calculated risk. He is not a lock by any means, but he is certainly one to consider

He's basically locked in for a midfield role, has been playing well in the intra-clubs by all reports, uses the ball well. Just can't see him going backwards, so even if he weren't to improve like we  all expect an 85 is no biggie this season,

He could easily go 90+ but I don't trust Malthouse. I can also see him missing at least two games this year with his dodgy hammy/calf.
