Disposal efficiency is a big thing to improve for Heppell. Another pre-season under the belt to develop a stronger fitness base to go longer.

IMO will average higher than Watson in 2015.

Yup. Hepp can butcher the ball at times and if he manages to clean up his disposal he can increase his average in SC. If I had to pick one between Hepp and Watson I would go with Hepp

Hard to improve efficiency when so many of his possessions are contested. Also doesn't help when you've got such a terrible opposite foot.

Bit more attention after his breakout and he'll stagnate/worsen this year IMO.

People said that of Fyfe too though and he turned into a super premo last year

What let's Hepp down is that he seems to get a lot of rushed touches whereby he is just slapping the ball to boot which can go anywhere, reducing his efficiency

Has not even entered my thoughts once. Love him, will only get better, but cant see him being Top 15 this year

The thing about Heppell is that he's not a bad user of the ball, he's just getting a lot of contested footy and a lot of rushed disposals because of it.
When he was first drafted and played off half back, he had great efficiency. He still does when he gets it in space.
The fact that he can now do both is a big plus for me. I'm very seriously considering him depending on how the whole Asada thing goes.

Case can also be made for Watson as he is underpriced and will lose some attention with most of it being directed at Heppell or even Goddard now. Had him locked before all the drug nonsense. At the moment I'm staying away from most Essendon players until I know whether they will face suspension or not.

You start with this but then your post is a positive for his selection?

How can you think he's going to get back into space after a breakout season in the mids? He's not going back to half-back. He's not going to get less attention.

Surely you pick Watson over Heppell for now ... The bloke has been there and done that

I am not picking Watson though

Just don't waste your money or a mid spot for a high priced mid who isn't a super premo.

I disagree, each year the standard is set at 110+ but do we all really actually end up with M8 going 110+...if the money is well spent elsewhere and you are good enough(big if) to nail that 500k bloke who averages 107-108 i reckon that's good enough for a M9 this year.

Much rather a Wines,Griffen,Crouch,Swallow type who could get that 110 than a Rich or Wells stepping stone, more points up for grab in mids, find your stepping stones in other lines.

110+ Mid is more of a guideline than a rule when it comes to filling M8-M9.

All Fyfe did last year was improve his DE. Had a pretty similar DT score as the year before, but it was his SC that went sky high. Can see Heppell having a similar SC breakout. Might average statistically quite similar to 2014, but better disposal (he's a beautiful kick, just doesn't always hit his targets) could see him going just the 110+ (not asking for a Fyfe-like 120)
