Would prefer Tom Mitchell

Still not convinced he is a walk-up start for Sydney

No to Colyer. There are a plethora of better options. Not Tom Mitchell though

will be a walk up start after his 1st ever pre season

You watched the Grand Final right? Sydney couldn't get the ball out of the middle!!! The Swans game plan was to focussed on speed and Hawthorn showed them up. I expect tmitch to play almost every game this year if he stays fit.

you need inside mids to get the ball to the runners

agreed but I'm saying the Swans have too many of them :)
+1

And I watched some of the GF. Spent most of my day in the garage at a mates place playing Rage Cage (look it up on Youtube)

I'll continue on with the Mitchell derail of this thread, because lets be serious, Colyer is not an option :P

Ted Richards said today that out of everyone at Sydney he is expecting Mitchell to have a massive 2015. Take that with a grain of salt if you like, but I personally think he will play a lot of footy this year and cement his spot. Def got my eyes on him through NAB. If he lines up Rd1 he will be hard to ignore at 400k - I reckon he can easily average 100+

Lets get this back on track.

Colyer will be in Essendon's best 22. Will he play 75-80% of the time half forward with a bit of midfield time.

With his speed and impact ability he would also be an excellent sub candidate, in fact IMO a sort of "supersub" if you like,

At best he is an 80 average. At his price it could make some cash but not enough to warrant starting him over a rookie or a premo. Colyer is a jet, but not for SC.

Think you summed up Colyer pretty well, Aaron.  He's almost the defination of a perfect sub with his speed and goal sneaking abilities.  He'll get the odd full game this year, as he has in the past, but just doesn't seem to have the consistency to put it together for four quarters.  Of course, there is the chance that he has matured to the point where he's ready for a regular gig. If so, I wish him luck.

kilbluff1985

the sub will be rotated most of the time and is usually always given to the player getting his first game or someone with not many games

he might get the vest a handful of times but i don't think it will be much more then that

i think clubs are smart enough not to make a player the sub all the time or they will leave

Essendon has a lot of sub candidates and I think Colyer has shown the ability to run a game out, hence not getting the green or red last year.

kilbluff1985

btw he wasnt a sub at all last year not even once

also his highest score was 100 so yeah i wouldn't go near him i like players who can score big
