Slated to play full time wing/ half back this year according to an article on AFL app a few days ago. Always had a huge ceiling and scored great in patches, but always been 10 points short of a topline premium.

With Ryder set to play almost fulltime forward and second ruck he should be free to roam more and sit a kick behind the play where he generally picks up a lot of intercept marks and is an around the ground target for his teammates.

Anyone considering?

I've considered but with the premium forward options available this year I don't want to risk it.

Might pick him in AF though where there is more scope for corrective trades.

The Hoff isnt worth it this year. too many better options!

Would have been a great pick if it wasn't for the mids there this year. Remember how he started a couple of years ago? I would expect more of that.

Yeah he went huge in over the first 4 or 5 rounds...think it was 2013.

Who?

Actually... TBS  I seen him tear Hawthorn a new one in a half of footy a few years ago - won them the game by himself - dominated Gibson & Co

A big smokey that maybe with some belief and quality around him (development of current squad) actually could go bang.

Think Richo when he played on a wing...NRoo  style...good hands

Hmmm....maybe too many consistant point stealers on his side for SC like Wines, Gray, Boak, Ryder, Lobbe, Wingard on his day

Will go big occasionally.... but will he have the consistency of a high possession mid type?

May start with a bang but opposition coaches would easily be able to shut him down with a tight tag...every team has athletic big men nowadays to just run beside him and punch

I picked him up on the low last year - price started with a $3. He romped it home for more than half a season, loved every second of it. A 150+ and a 140+ in there.

Now, does that make him an upgrade target? Well, he does throw n 50s and 60s, so that normally indicates yes. The problem really is that start to 2013. He averaged 140 in the first month ffs.

So yeah, upgrade target that might accidentally smash the doors off.

3 months ago I would have really considered him, but it's very difficult to consider any POD forwards this year with the new additions

I like him as a player but too much of a rollercoaster ride to be seriously considered at present.  That said, I will be monitoring his season and any signs of new-found consistency will be duly noted, and taken seriously.

I think most of his poor scoring comes when he is planted forward as a target for long periods and he doesnt accumulate the ball.  With Ryder there if he isnt sat forward i think he could get rid of those poor scoring games or halves of games. This is why im considering him as a POD. Also unlikely to get a run with player round the ground with the likes of Wines, Boak, Grey, Hartlett rotating through the mids.

I reckon there is a good chance of a Tex,Tippet,Cloke going bang early on as well.....if only i had a crystal ball.

Tex. Tippet will rotate through the ruck and it's a simple fact Cloke can't kick.

Not sure of the theory he will go big early?
Plays Freo, Sydney, North and Hawthorn in his first 4.

If he scores well through those early games and looks to have a permanent role that is SC friendly then he's worth a look at as an upgrade but at the moment he's a role player that gets thrown where they happen to need him that game.
Not a risk that needs to be taken in the forward line imo.
