The Contenders

Buenos Aires Armadillos
Finished: 4th, 2nd, 3rd
Record: 7-5
Comment: Despite being runner-up in 2013, it was 2014 that will hurt them the most, missed out on percentage in a very close race - foiled by only 1 team in the last round of the year. Sao Paulo, who the have 0-6 record against! Good news is that team doesn't exist anymore. Bad news - is that they don't really have a team anymore either.

Mexico City Suns
Finished: 3rd, 1st, 2nd
Record: 9-3
Comment: Went through 2013 undefeated, and missed on 2014 by percentage. The Suns are a powerhouse for sure, and this is a very tough competition. But Sao Paulo is gone, and Buenos Aires in 'rebuild' mode, so they have to be favourite to take this out this year.

New York Revolution
Finished: 5th, 5th, 5th
Record: 0-12
Comment: New York doesn't know what they did to deserve this. Drawn in a group where the 4 other teams have all made the finals EVERY year, and 3 of them the top four EVERY year. As such, have never really been close to finishing anything but last. But a new coaching panel should see them at LEAST win its first every match, and if things go its way, maybe take it out.

Rio de Janeiro Jaguars
Finished: NA, NA, NA
Record: 0-0
Comment: The unknown quantity. Any team with Ablett will shake up the comp in any given week. But can they go all the way? I think somewhere in the middle for them.

Sao Paulo Pumas - Retired
Finished: 1st, 3rd, 1st
Record: 9-3
Comment: Undefeated in 2012, and snuck home in 2014, the Pumas are the most succesful team in the Americas. But they have been retired from the competition, with a legacy that few will recreate.

Toronto Wolves
Finished: 2nd, 4th, 4th
Record: 5-7
Comment: The Wolves performed admirably in 2012 with a runners-up Gong, but have been playing in a field of giants for the most time. This time is different - the 3 giants have gone down to 1. Do they dare to dream?

3rd - Rio de Janeiro, Ablett the key
4th - Toronto, Wolves need a few results to go its way
5th - Buenos Aires, won't compete
