Might have to spend extra on midfield rookies this year, Cockatoo or Newton the most likely.

Tarrant? Seriously?

Would love to hear why not?
Lambert, Lamb, Steele, Hogan, Krakouer. What does Tarrant have that can't be found in these 5? And why hasn't he shown it in 5 seasons?

And then for peanuts more you've got Armfield, Saad, Clark.

If I were playing 8 rooks in the forwards I'd have him fighting with McInnes, Murray Newman and Karnezis for F9.

And if lamb, steele, krakeour, armfield, mcinnes, newman and karnezis dont get named?  Wouldnt be surprised in none of those are named round 1.

LF

Simpson has pretty much said Lamb will play round 1 He won't play all of Lamb,McInnes and Newman who still needs to be elevated off the rookie list anyway.

I think Tarrant will do well this year, and I was seriously considering him over Hogan because of ownership %

He's in his team's best 21. Half the guys you listed are still rookie listed.

We all have Clark so pointless mentioning him, Saad is still a rookie, ditto Krakouer. Most will pick Lamb up as well, that leaves Hogan as the other choice (Lambert being at M11).

Who will score more points? Personally I think Tarrant will, his preseason form was decent and he has scored reasonably well in the past. I don't think 60-70 is out of the question. Hogan on the other hand looks like he will average around 50.

Part of the difference of opinion is structure as well as the individual player traits. For me I'm going in 5 premo 3 rook, so for me to consider a player they're all player X v Lambert and player y V Clark. I would have to wittle down the list a long way to consider a basement priced KPF.

But I know a few who are quite legitimately going in 7 rooks in the forwards, and good luck to them. There's a lot of depth in the forward rookies this year, and to some they've decided to load up the forwards instead of the mids. In those instances yeah... Tarrant comes in to play. Maybe.

Best of luck to everyone overall. Rookie FWD v rookie Mid teams is going to be an absolute hoot to watch play out this year!!!
