The Contenders

Cairo
Finished: 4th, 2nd, 3rd
Record: 3-6
Comment: Terrible record in this competition, favourite to win it last year, but fell over against the struggling Warriors. Lack of results in this competition has contributed to them missing the finals. Will be out to make amends

Cape Town
Finished: 1st, 1st, 1st
Record: 8-1
Comment: Loves this comp! Having only lost once in three years, the Cobras have put its stamp well and truly on this premiership. No reason they can't make it 4/4

Christchurch
Finished: NA, NA, NA
Record: 0-0
Comment: Out of the Ashes of Wellington rises Christchurch - a big unknown at this stage, and a lot relies on who they draft in.

Pacific
Finished: 3rd, 3rd, 4th
Record: 2-7
Comment: Never really contended most years, and will be hoping for better luck. I think they will need a bit of luck, but in a 4 team comp, luck can really play a part.

Wellington - Retired
Finished: 2nd, 4th, 2nd
Record: 5-4
Comment: No longer with us, but despite poor results in the overall comp, Wellington managed to finish runner-up twice.

History

2012
Position   Name   Score   Scored Against   Wins   Loses   Percentage
1   Cape Town Cobras   449   405   3   0   110.86
2   Wellington Warriors   402   393   2   1   102.29
3   Pacific Islanders   409   418   1   2   97.85
4   Cairo Sands   369   413   0   3   89.35

Cape Town, the 2012 runner-up, the clear winner in this competition, with Wellington finishing 2nd (and also making the finals that year).

2013
Position   Name   Score   Scored Against   Wins   Loses   Percentage
1   Cape Town Cobras   400   367   2   1   108.99
2   Cairo Sands   405   381   2   1   106.30
3   Pacific Islanders   377   393   1   2   95.93
4   Wellington Warriors   342   383   1   2   89.30

The Cobras make it back-to-back in a much closer encounter than the previous year, with Cairo breathing down their necks. Pacific upset at the end of the year over Cape Town almost gave it to Cairo.

2014
Africonia   Name   Score   Scored Against   Wins   Losses   Percentage
1   Cape Town Cobras   395   374   3   0   105.61
2   Wellington Warriors   386   382   2   1   101.05
3   Cairo Sands   401   374   1   2   107.22
4   Pacific Islanders   358   410   0   3   87.32

Wellington the surprise packet but Cape Town came through undefeated, to win its third flag in a row with an imposing 8-1 overall record across the 3 years. Cairo could only win 1 match, despite scoring the most points.

Holz

if mummy can stay on the park I think this is Cairo's to lose.

No need to make a thread about it Ossie. Title #4 is in the bag :P

Nige

Oss is a strong Cairo fanboy and we appreciate it.  8)

We've scored the most the past two seasons, hopefully we do it again and this time have enough points to get the all important percentage.

My Chumps

Reckon we're in a pretty good spot to win number four!

Christchurch a good outsider. Cairo a non entity as always :P

At least we didn't almost lose our jobs last season.

What's that? Our team hardly had a coach and we still beat you to the Africonia title :P

Imagine how good we will do this season with two active coaches at the helm :D
