Profile

When Melbourne recruiting manager Jason Taylor compared Vandenberg's 2014 NEAFL performances to those of Anthony Miles it was always going to prick the ears of fantasy coaches. Aaron has transformed himself from a forward into a damaging midfielder, winning Ainslie's last 2 B&F's and now getting the opportunity on an AFL list. I see him as being in a group of players with Michie, Riley and Newton as someone who could potential be a great pick if things go well for him. It will take a lot to go right though, firstly he needs to recover from his shoulder injury and fight his way off the rookie list while proving he's worthy of the 22. My gut says Melbourne will want to see how he goes in the VFL for a while but should he make a debut at any point he's well worth considering.

Pros - Rookie priced, ball magnet, goalkicker

Cons - Rookie listed, js

Prediction - 53-57

Shower, thats a pretty awesome NEAFL average.

If he's named round 1 he has to be looked at. If not maybe a good downgrade option through the year.

That NEAFL seems to be the worsttttt comp. Can see how Tom Mitchell pumped out 250!

I'm a Melbourne supporter and have been following the young guys there. There is alot as you say in that young group, Michie, Vandenberg, Petracca, Brayshaw, Salem, Riley and Newton. Picking the right one will be hard. In my eyes, I see them all being managed with game time, effectively in and out of the side as a starter or as a sub which will be painful for fantasy coaches.
