IN-FORM Brisbane Lions ruckman Stefan Martin could be re-signed by the club as soon as next week.

Lions' football operations manager Dean Warren confirmed to AFL.com.au negotiations with Martin's manager Paul Connors were in their final stages.

Martin, 27, has had an incredible career revival over the past 10 weeks since Trent West's season-ending ACL injury gave him an opportunity in the senior team.

In that period he has been a catalyst behind the Lions' 5-5 win-loss run, averaging 22 disposals, four clearances and 30 hit-outs a game.

"We're not too far away," Warren said.

"We're tic-tacking on a few things, but certainly in the next week or so we'll have it finalised."

Leppa plans on using both Martin and Leuey in tandem

Wonder what that will mean for West

Poor Westy haha. Comes up here looking for opportunities and is playing well, nek minnit some random comes in and dominates the ruck for Brisbane haha.

Actually it will be interesting because if you look at the Stats for West for his 10 games they are actually better than Martins. So our Ruck stocks are sound. West and Berger were used in Tandem initially this season.

Where are they better ringo?
With Martin having played 1 more game than West, he has:
- 55 more kicks
- 77 more handballs
- 33 more marks
- 83 more hitouts
- 15 more tackles

Apart from the fact that West has kicked 4 goals as opposed to Matin's 0, Martin has West covered in most basic areas

Just reading last weeks the record and Wests disposal efficiencies are a better than Martins and that is where I am comparing from.
