Might name the starting team and then the three next best in each.

Cairo

D: B.Smith, E.Mackenzie, J.McGovern, N.Smith (R.Thompson, S.Rowe, B.Stratton)
M: D.Beams, D.Prestia, P.Hanley, M.Hutchings (S.Dwyer, A.Woodward, C.Blakely)
R: S.Mumford (R.Lobb, T.Downie)
F: L.Breust, P.Puopolo, N.Gordon, B.Brown (R.Palmer, N.Kommer, C.Knights)
I: L.Dunstan, T.Colyer

Quite bullish about our chances, I think we're a top 8 team.

I don't like this side at all sorry Nigey. Brodie Smith is good in defence but then it goes downhill. You've got 3 good midfielders, a super gun ruck (when fit) and one (maybe 2) forwards I rate.

It's got potential but if I had to bet I'd say you'd be just outside the 8 this season.

If they were willing to move prestia they could get a big upgrade on their forward line from Dublin.

That's a very mean thing to say :P

I don't like the team and I didn't like it last year but it works because they kicked my ass

When Beams (c) and Mumford combine for 450+ points, the Cairo side looks great.

But the #NoMummyNoCairo tag had some truth to it...

You listed Polec twice, mate.

That defence is looking great! Reckon you guys are a good chance to push outside the bottom four!

Second one was meant to be Aish, fixed :P

Yeah, a few unexpected DPP's down back have us looking ok in what I though was going to be our weakest line!

With drafting and the first trading period over, it'd be cool if everyone posts their best XV and maybe a little depth. So much has changed over the off-season and it'd help with predictions.

Savage, Higgins, Haynes, O'Shea

JPK, Cotchin, Tyson, S Selwood

Stef Martin

Hawkins, Cooney, Bird, Cameron

Everitt, Curnow

E: Jasper Pittard (D), Horlin-Smith (M), Billy Longer (R), Lachie Hunter (M/F)

Aims: We're hopeful of again making top 8 for the fourth time in the franchises history. Understand that it's got tighter over the off-season but frankly we'd be a little disappointed with anything less.

Strengths: Depth, particularly in the forward line with the unexpected addition of Cooney, Toumpas and Bird keeping it. Our depth outside of the best four include;
S Crameri, L Hunter, A Everitt, M Honeychurch, P Wright, S Reid, B Jack, D Kent, Cam McCarthy, B Smedts

Weaknesses: Starting backline still a bit of an issue. Savage joining in the trade period helps, and Higgins gaining DEF statues helps, but it's still a little light, and we're going to have to bank on serious improvement from Haynes/O'Shea/Pittard/Rohan to fill out those last two spots.

Andrejs Everitt is still a def (I think)!

Big coup for us. Pushes out one of the guys who may not be a permanent starter for their club (O'Shea/Haynes). Also Gwilt has been training well in a bit of a quarterback role according to my Bombers mate who watches their training sessions.

We've really been blessed with the dpp changes. It's given our team a lot more depth.

A lot of top 8 teams this year.
Yeah I reckon there's gonna be at least 7 of them, dare I say 8?

My Chumps

D: Hodge. Malceski, Enright, Harbrow
M: Priddis, N.Jones, D.Shiel, Rich
R: Lobbe
F: Swan. Wingard, Westoff, Rioli
U: Myers, Ray
E: Marley Williams (D). Mitch Hallahan (M) Jonathan Griffin (R) Tom. T Lynch (F)

we really want to secure a top 4 spot this season after narrowly missing out last season
Definitely a top 4 quality starting 15, but depth is a bit of an issue. Need Hallahan to secure a spot for GC and Williams to get back to some reasonable form.

agree had to sacrifice some depth to improve the starting side but still have some decent depth  in most posistions

Def: Williams, Jackson trengove, Mcpharlin, matthew watson
Mid: Hallahan, morabito, zac obrien
Ruck: Griffin, Naismith, cambell, cordy
Fwd: Lynch, Casboult, Billings, Merrett

so mid depth looks shallow but if say we had billings as a utility then that leaves ray or myers as extra depth and so on
but if we go back to a few seasons ago and get too many injuries then yeah we in big troble

got some good young kids too but didn't list them as all speculative till they actually scoring regardless of draft position

My Chumps

Loss of Eski is going to hurt even more now.

The loss of Eski was never my worry tbh because I was confident that McGovern would get DPP and I honestly think we improved our defensive depth. Big Easy is going to have a knock-on effect as McGovern's scoring will be impacted for the worse.

Our mid depth is my main concern.

The love for PNL is high this season 8). Now I'll find a way to screw it up somehow :'(.

And I can see Cairo making bottom 6 this season as well with Hanley out now :-X. They need some youngsters to break through everywhere and Mummy to stay on the field! All tough asks.
