Which def goes, which mid comes in?

Part A - Barring the usual carnage at selection this week, I may finally have a chance to get rid of one of Birchall or Jaench (via Dal Santo to defence).
Question is, which one goes?
Both have turned some horrible scoring into some semi decent scores over the past 2 weeks, without being anything spectacular. Birchall with a 95 and 80, and Jaench with 79 and 89. I really am stuck on who to move on. Thoughts would be appreciated.

Part B - Second question is which mid do I bring in for them? I can afford anyone but Kennedy and Sidebottom. Ignoring my current midfield I have narrowed the options down to Macrae, Selwood, Barlow, Ward, Treloar and Ellis. Thoughts on this would also be welcome.

Please help.

I personally would dump Birchall because Adelaide have a very friendly draw for the rest of the year.

Which mid is a little tougher. Narrowing down the top 8 mids this year is tough. Selwood, Macrae and Barlow are probably my picks of the names you chosen. Each has positives and negatives.

Selwood looks like he MIGHT be back but by his usual standards has been poor.

Macrae is a young player who's been up and down all year. Has the ability to go big but can also have poor games. Has also had an appearance in the vest which may have been a kick up the A he required to finish the year strong.

Barlow has been consistent this year but has had some down weeks recently.

If you've already got mids who go big one week and small the next I would chose Barlow.

If you've got the more consistent mids already I would go Macrae.

birchell out in the backline i think. better draw for jaensch, even though henderson and smith are also taking lots of points of him.

in the mids i think that selwood back could be the deal of the season, as he is allegedly now training and not playing sore. possibly the first time this year.

otherwise macrae and barlow.
