trade question: 1 prem + donut = 2 rookies?

i was always planning 2 trades this week, mitchell in (walker made that easy) and rocky in for shenton.  but as for most, sandi out has put a spanner in the works as i have no cover.

thinking of 2 options,
1.  stay with the 2 trades, cop the donut and move on.  top in all my leagues but would like a nice overall rank too
2. trade currie (at r3) for ben brown to cover sandi and play kirsten fwd (as i will have to move zorko to my mids to cover shenton)

even though trading brown in will stop a donut i reckon the total points gained will be about the same.  ie rocky 110 vs brown + shenton 110.  so perhaps it would be better to save the trade?

or am i totally off the mark?

i would appreciate any thoughts or other opinions.  cheers.

Option 1 - Rocky is for life (2014 anyway). You may not use/need Brown again.

Option 1 for sure. I get what you mean about wanting to get as high overall as you can, but you'd be using a trade4 for an ultimately meaningless stat and it could jeopardise leagues even if you are in first place. I was in a similar position last week, coming first in uni and cash league, 15th :P in FF league, but in my two good leagues I was playing ghost ship teams so copped 2 donuts last week for the long term goal... dropped about 1000 places overall but that's kinda pointless worrying about.

Though I guess if you're not in a cash league then it's all just a bit of fun so do what your gut says!

Rocky will score insane against a Gaz-less Suns outfit

Option 1

As you are Top of League I would take the donut and go option 1.  Long term gain for short term pain.
