Best Defender?

Hey all, just wondering what people's thoughts are on who is the best defender to pick up?
They will become my D6.

Current defense is Mcveigh, Hibbard, Simpson, Swallow and Suckling.

Choices are:

Matthew Jeansch
Cale Hooker
Luke Hodge
Pearce Hanley
Grant Birchall
James Kelly
Cameron Gutherie

I'm honestly thinking Gutherie as he is a POD and a tagger so will get alot of tackles and always near the ball and I feel Geelong will fire up the 2nd half of this year.

Thoughts?

i'd go Hanley with the mix of what he can deliver and cost.

Jaensch is an interesting one, i could bring him in this week too but his reliability worries me in terms of continuing on with this scoring.

+1 for bartel. Any reason you haven't considered him?

Hanley from your list. Also, Enright comes home strong and is good value. Someone else to consider.

Great defence already. You must be going well in the rankings. Any of those players as D6, that said i would look to bartel if you can afford him.

I have Birchall and he has been pretty good so far this year.
Had a fairly crap score in round 2 and I thought wtf have I done here but since then has be fine.
Otherwise Bartel or Hanley

I would agree that Bartel is the option if you can make it happen, otherwise Hanley.

I'd worry about Jaench, he's good now but he is filling Ricki Hendersons role while he is injured.

Get Bartel and make Suckling your D6.

If I was to get Bartel it will have to be next week. Is he a way better choice than anyone I listed above?

Birchall, Hanley & Bartel are all good options IMO. Jaensch is an interesting one, Ricky Henderson is listed as being only a few weeks away so what happens when he comes back?
