Settle for Goddard or go for better?

Was after some thoughts on my trade ideas. My mids and forwards currently look like this:

Ablett, Pendlebury, Selwood, Beams, Rockliff, Watson, Gray, Hallahan, Taylor, Acres
Dangerfield, Martin, Parker, Dahlhaus, Higgins, Lloyd, Cameron, Ambrose

Currently have 14 trades, $67,500 in the bank, ranked 409 overall

My initial plans from last week were to go Lloyd to Shenton/Lennon and Higgins to Goddard (via Gray). Then I started wondering whether I should pass on Goddard and wait to get Fyfe/JPK/SJ. I've also just realised I could go Taylor to Shenton and then Higgins to Fyfe, but I don't really want to trade Taylor yet and this would leave my F6-F8 very thin.

Option 1 - Lloyd to Shenton/Lennon, Higgins to Goddard
Pros - Can use Shenton/Lennon or Taylor at F6 for now
       - Brings another premium into my midfield
       - a bit of cash left over to upgrade Langdon next week
Cons - Goddard is probably going to average less than Fyfe/JPK/SJ

Option 2 - Lloyd to Shenton/Lennon
Pros - Can use Shenton/Lennon or Taylor at F6 for now
        - Allows me to bring in a stronger mid premium later (Fyfe probably gets the Picken tag this week anyway)
Cons - I'm (at least) one premium mid down on almost everyone else

Option 3 - Taylor to Shenton, Higgins to Fyfe
Pros - Brings in one of the better premiums into my midfield
Cons - Taylor still has more money to make and is a solid M9.
        - bank balance virtually at 0
        - F6-F8 would be Lloyd, Cameron, Ambrose

Getting Fyfe into my team as soon as possible would be great, but I think it limits my options to finalise my team. Fyfe will probably cop the Picken tag this week as well and we all saw how that went down last week.

I was about to make a very similar thread so I'm just going to keep an eye on what others have to say in response.

I like option 1 Rusty

Is Barlow affordable in this option besides Goddard?

Bully

I'm sacrificing a premo score this week to bring in Shenton, really want the Taylor & Shenton combo for the entire season, having the flexibility will be huge when all the trades dry up.

Yeah I can (just) afford Barlow.

Despite the lure of Fyfe this week I think I need to accept that I should settle for Goddard or Barlow for the long term betterment of my team.

Holz

not sure goddard is settling at all

Goddard 118 average
Fyfe 120 avergae

but Fyfe has a history of missing games and his best ever year is a 108 average. Goddard rarely misses games, has a better history of being a SC gun and most importantly is 100k cheaper.

You could argue if they were the same price you would still pick goddard so with the price difference I think its a fairly easy choice.

Going into this round, Goddard had the 8th highest average in the midfield taking out that 11 against Fremantle.

Having one of the 8 highest scorers isn't exactly settling, and at under $500k he is a steal.
