Where my team is headed! Good? Bad? Stupid? You tell me

So usually I don't trade too heavy early on and do pretty well overall (top 10k) and do very well in all my leagues but I've decided to shake it up a bit this year and give overall a bit more of a crack.

After trading M.Thomas to Cutler and swinging Lmac to the mids my team is as follows

Mitchell McVeigh Swallow Suckling Langdon Langford (Cutler, Georgiou)
Ablett, Beams, Watson, Cotchin, Libba Polec, Tyson, Lmac (Robertson, Dunstan)
Sandi Hampson (Currie, Derickx)
Dangerpants, Parker, Pavlich, Dusty Higgins, Fasolo (JKH, Lloyd)

22 trades remaining - $440k in the bank - overall rank 3600

The plan for the future is as follows;
Rnd 8 Trades Lmac to Griffen, Hampson to Minson
Rnd 9 Trades Dunstan to rookie, Tyson to Pendles (polec to pendles if the cash doesnt stretch)

I feel like I should do well in round 8 and that this is a good opportunity to gain some ground in the overall rankings

My main dilemma is and this is why I've posted, am I neglecting my backline too much to try and get a strong midfield and if so what will the consequences be? Is having 7 midfield prems and still 2 rookies in the backline a smart move?

Cheers in advance
