Just wondering if players in emergencys can be counted for the "best 18" for example: i have Cox, Sandilands and Derickx in my ruck. Come round 8 Derickx will be emg but can he still contribute to my score if needed even though i will have two starting ruckmen?

Ricochet

Nah its the best 18 of your fielded players mate.

"To better-reflect the actual competition, you'll score from your best 18 players only (therefore your Best 18 scores) in any position, from your selected, on-field Starting 22. You'll still need to ensure that your best available players are in your starting 22 line-up."

Yeah field players as above. Emergencies still function as normal, ie if one of your rucks was a late out then Derrickx could replace them in the 18, but you could not have two starting rucks and then also get Derrickx score in the case of only having 15 other D/M/F players - you would be stuck with 17 scores...

Is this bye structure bad?
Round 8: missing 11 players
Round 9: 8
Round 10: 11

Not really, just depends how they're spread... You have have 12 out and still field 18 so long as they're spread evenly. But for exampl if you have 11 out but none of them are rucks, you'll have at least 1 donut... because even if all 4 rucks are playing you can only get 2 on the field, so 2 of them are wasted... that means 11 players out in D/M/F, you can only field a max of 17 players...

I have a question RE bye rounds that I didnt really want to start a new thread for so I'll leave it here:

With regards to bye round players being used as emergency loopholes:

Take the OPs ruck example, if somehow Derickx pulls put a 200 on the Friday night and you have the emergency on him, can you then bring Sandi onto your bench for Currie, or is Currie locked onto your bench as are the rest of the bye players? Or are they free to move all round??

Ricochet

"Bye Round Players" are locked at the start of the last game of the round. So yes you can do that

Cheers!!
... my Dad's team, who just so happens to have no round 8 bye round players in it, will be very happy to hear that ;)

Your Dad's team must be pretty crappy.

He doesn't mind, he's probably just going to give up after round 8 anyway.
