Kelly. easy choice. more upsides. still got 100K plus to make in the new few weeks.

Why does everyone think Buckley has good JS?
who goes out when Judd is back in rnd 5? Ellard? Bell? Robbo?
Will Brick Mclean get back in? not so sure about it myself
Might be sub this week or Yaz didn't do too much last week

Ricochet

Buckley has been playing a defensive role so not sure if the midfielders returning will push him out. I'm no Carlton fan but that's just what I've seen

Bully

On top of that he played a ripper game against Richmond, a Rising Star nomination buys some brownie points, he'll be fine until the byes IMO.

ronburgndy

on CFC website say's docherty played well in the 2's 21 touches and a good running goal
Giving how bad they were last week MM might rush him in
we'll know in 6hrs

So atm it seems that Kelly is the popular choice (at over 2 to 1 of votes) yet I still think for my situatiion Buckley is the way to go, have to wait for the teams yet I'm sure I'll still be none the wiser :P  At least Carlton play early on Saturday, I'd say my decision will be based on a) whether Buckley is picked tonight, and b) whether he avoids the green vest on Saturday

I too am struggling to decide which of these 2 to get

I kind of wish one of them gets dropped tonight just to make the decision easier

Like most have said, I don't want a 200k+ player sitting on my bench, and although he has scored well it was against two shower teams who always give points away to opposition

Just having a look at GWS's draw: Bulldogs, Adelaide, Gold Coast, Port, West Coast then bye. The next 3 weeks Kelly could go 80+ vs those teams

Carlton on the other hand face Melbourne, Bulldogs, West Coast, Collingwood and STK

I also think that Kelly could be fielded over Ellis/Polec from time to time too, where as Buckley is purely a bench option that you probably don't want to rely on

Having said all that, it still doesn't make the decision easier!

Who will make the most money over the next 5 weeks, that is the simple equation as far as I'm concerned. My money is on Buckley, purely because he is coming from a lower base. JS is an issue but it's not so great that I want to part with all the extra dosh. Ultimately, both players will or should be culled in round 9, so scoring potential isn't a primary concern.

i'd love kelly but my mids are set. Dunstan/Tyson/Ellis/Polec.

Spot on. It really is all about cash generation, so you need to take the emotion out of the decision

Laidler and KK are options too by swinging LMac or Langdon into the mids

djbics

Good call RD, I had thought about Laidler and KK as well, however I'm still uncertain that either of them are better playing options than Kelly, or better cash cow alternatives to Buckley.... really is a flip of a coin decision this one in my books, waiting for these teams now!

So teams being announced really haven't cleared this one up, would love to think that with Buckley being named on the field he is less likely to cop the green vest, but really dont trust these teamsheets, any carlton fans out there with an opinion on who's likely to be the sub?  Menzel perhaps...
