Judd to miss start of season

A troublesome Achilles will see Carlton's Chris Judd miss the start of season 2014.

Judd has been troubled by pain in his Achilles for the past fortnight, and scans have revealed he is suffering a form of Achilles tendinitis. He will undergo surgery next week to relieve the symptoms.

Carlton's GM - Football Operations Andrew McKay says Judd will be fully fit to resume playing by Round 3.

"old man" Achilles injury...not good late in his career. As for the round 3 return prediction...it seems optimistic..imo.. 8)

Sad for Juddy, but good for Port, as we have them 1st up. As T-Dog stated, not to good at his age and Achilles are a hard thing to shake at the best of times

Bell should be dropped Vinny, he didn't feed it out to Daisy anywhere near enough!
