CLASSY defender Garrick Ibbotson is set to re-sign with Fremantle for three more years.

Ibbotson, who turned 26 last Saturday, was set to become an unrestricted free agent at the end of this season, but AFL.com.au understands he has agreed to terms to remain at the Dockers to the end of 2017.

The Dockers have now secured three prospective free agents in the past three weeks, having also recently re-signed defender Paul Duffield and ruckman Aaron Sandilands to the end of 2015.

Freo still has three 2014 free agents who are yet to re-sign.

Captain Matthew Pavlich and key defender Luke McPharlin, both 32, appear extremely unlikely to go anywhere, but midfielder David Mundy, 28, will be heavily courted by clubs in his home state of Victoria.

how far away is he from playing Ric ?

Will get a run in the WAFL this week mate. From there he will need a couple more but he is easily in our best 22 so he won't be far away.

I was talking to a fella on another web site about Apeness. He said he is a jet and will be a super star for us.With him being a forward /ruckman,maybe he is the one the recruiters have cited as  the replacement for Pavlick.
I am looking forward to seeing Jacob Ballard play.I believe he is out with a sore hand at the moment.

Apeness was #2 behind Boyd at TAC level, when Boyd was out injured Apeness stepped up and lead the team.

It will be interesting to see how he goes this weekend wearing the Peel colours.Apparently he played in the scratchie last weekend and went ok.
Looking forward to see if he can be a replacement for Pav.
