ROSYS BEER NUTS

Thanks for the input guys, appreciate it.

Any thoughts for better scoring and Value by dropping Nic Nat for Sandilands, and upgrading Dom Sheed to Dale Thomas?

I think if Nic Nat gets rested at all in the first 3 rounds (Dogs, Melb & Saints) this could a better start.?

ROSYS BEER NUTS

Howdy, Been playing around for another fortnight, thinking of value players and structure. This is what i have come up with.
Please rate critically, really looking for a good start and make value picks.

DEF: J McVeigh, S Mitchell, D Swallow, M Suckling, S Docherty, K Kolodjashnij, (L McDonald, D Gardiner)

MID: G Ablett, S Pendlebury, T Libratore, M Murphy, D Beams, J Martin, C Beams, Viv Michie (A Moribito, J O'Rourke)

RUCK: M Lobbe, A Sandilands (D Currie, T Nankervis)

FWD: P Dangerfield, B Harvey, D Martin, M Clark, N Bock, S Kerstan, (D Gartlett, M Honeychurch)

CASH LEFT: $25,700

I am not totally sold on the Harvey pick so have considered Harvey for Zorko and Docherty to a Seedsman/Gibson.? Possibly as risky as Dempster. Plans for him to move through the Saints mid field more. Thoughts?

Ringo

Like most Tosy we have fun trying to make a team that fits in salry cap.

Def: Unless someone stands up in the NAB cup not a lot of cheapie rookies to pick from. Would prefer to rely on only one rookie here. Can not see Docherty in Blues top 22 as yet my opinion though,
Mids: No issues here
Rucks: Ok
Fwds: Harvey is a year older but still has the football smarts and could be a nice POD.  Think there is a risk with both Clark and Bock returning from long injury lay offs so just watch pre season form.

Overall sound team with options still available. Good luck.

Def: Pretty good swallow is a nice pick should go up another level this year. Iagree with Ringo regarding Docherty as for the Rookies you will just have to see if there are any standouts once the NAB Cup is over.
Mids: Idon't find any problems here.
Rucks: Lobbe is becoming a popular Choice so good picks here
Fwds: Even though Harvey is not getting any younger is still a great player so i a good POD.I would Look at replacing either Clarke or Bock with Lennon.

Team looks well balanced not sure how the Bye set up is because you haven't stated it but team is sound give it an 8/10

My team going into NAB..

B:  A Walker, J Bartel, S Mitchel, M Suckling, K Kolodjasni, J Laidler (T Culter, M Fuller)
M:  G Ablett, D Swan, S Johnson, J Watson, K Jack, C Beams, V Miche, L Dunstan, (A Moribito, J O'Rouke)
R:  M Lobbe, J Thurlow (B Brown, T Nankervis)
F:  P Dangerfield, N Riewoldt, D Martin, K Tippet, S Kerston, L Taylor, (J Impey, M Honeychurch)

Obviously my R2 is a problem.. But my plan will be to ride a score there from any playing rookie and have an extra week or two to look at the best value pick out of the large pool of returning/value rucks... I see this as maybe losing 20-30pts (60 max) in this position to gain the ability to pick between Sandi / H Mac / Hickey / Longer /Grundy with an extra 1-2 weeks research to get the right one. I think picking the best one of them before rnd 3 would be gold and I'm willing to give a few points early to get that pick right.. Thoughts?
I have gone with a guns and rooks set up with the exception of Suckling.
My thoughts with this in regards to Beams/Murphy/Daisy/Swallow/fwd value etc etc is that I will not be missing out on any major 100+ scores from any of them in first 2 rounds and gain the extra 1-2 weeks research to downgrade to the best option with one of my failing mid/fwd premo choices..
Otherwise this is the team I'm looking at until NAB ends and rooks are more certain..
Would love feedback as I feel I have a few uniques in my side also, and would like thoughts on other structures too other than just my R2.
Cheers

ROSYS BEER NUTS

Hi guys, thanks alot for the previous feedback.
I have been watching NAB hard and following as much fantasy as I can in the mean time..
Here's my current team going into rnd 1.

B:  S Mitchel, P Hanley, N Malceski, J Pittard, M Suckling,L McDonald (J Laidler, W Langford)
M:  S Pendlebury, T Libratore, T Cotchin, D Beams, L Shiels, D Tyson, J Polec, X Ellis (L Dunstan, M Crouch)
R:  T Hickey, A Sandilands (F Thurlow, M King)   -King is for Loophole-
F:  P Dangerfield, N Riewoldt, D Martin, T Mitchell, J Caddy, G Rohan (JKH, M Honeychurch)

$93,400 remaining

Rooks are still on the table and really unsure on what angle to take into the split rnd 1 so banking some cash to help there.
Otherwise I was thinking Caddy>Pav..?
I am of the opinion that if Langford does not get named rnd 1 I will swap Shiels for Thomas as his tagging role worries me.
I really dont want to start with Danger and take the chance he flops first 5-6 rnds, but very risky so I have him..
My rucks are my biggest risk IMO, although I would love to afford to have 2-4 weeks of extra research to choose my premium based on roles and single #1 rucks etc..
Any thoughts would be greatly appreciated, and would love to jump on and share a rate for rate..
Cheers

Gary Ablett- You need him in your side.

Not convinced about Malceski- is he going to be a top 6 defender? Hurn probably a better pick or spend a little more for Simpson/Enright/Taylor. Pittard at D4 is too weak- need another premo

If you pick a mid pricer at M5 it should be Thomas.  Personally you should go 5 premo/ 5 rookies or 4 premo/6 rookies. 4 mid rookies is not enough for cash generation.

Hickey not good enough for R1 with Sandi- need a proven premo like Leuey/Nic Nat (if fit)

Riewoldt IMO will struggle in a poor side this year and will drop both in price and PPG average. T.Mitch 2nd year blues concern.

Keep an eye on rookies.  JS concerns for Laidler/Langford/Crouch and Honeychurch.

Thanks Aaron.

I Agree I need Ablett in my side. Would you say I need both Pendles and Ablett to start tho?
I think I could dodge 3-4 lower scores from Ablett early and get on him for a cheaper price round 4-5-6 ish.
Ablett faces Crowley, Rains & Jackson in first 3 rounds and has a calf concern... (Jackson smashed him last year too)
Fair call on Malceski and Pittard, both weak. I guess its where you want to place your risks.. Any def rooks that definitely need to be on my radar?
Ill deal with R1 too I guess, another risk not worth taking.. My favourite for R1 would be McEvoy, but like i said would love the extra few weeks into the season to decide that..
Cyril Rioli floating across the half back line could mean good SC scoring.. Worthy of getting in after his suspension?
Cheers

T Hickey, A Sandilands (F Thurlow(E), M King(LH))
