This is my current team after many alterations. It has left me with $238,200 remaining to one trade fix any early day problems touch wood.

How much do you leave? Do you think I should inject that cash into my team or leave as is?

Yeh definitely spend it, otherwise you'll be behind from round 1. I feel comfortable leaving about 30k.

Yeah 30-50k I leave to adjust rookies. That's about it. Any other money would be better spent on field upgrades.

McEvoy into Goldy/Minson or Webster into a defence premo

Or Caddy/Higgins into a fwd premo

I would have a think about how likely McVeigh is to go up in price. I think he can wait.

Grab an Enright, Simpson, Hanley, Hibberd, Thompson ( ie a highly likely keeper) etc and use the cash to upgrade McEvoy ( an only possible) keeper to Goldy?

After the first weekend of the split round, a bit of cash ( or at least a plan ) to cover the NON Selection of your week 2 el cheapo rookies is handy. Know who you will get if a couple aren't selected.

Happy with my present team and have $131,700 salary cap over. If team selections permit I'll go in to Rd.1 as is. Cheers.    ;)

Made some changes to use some of the cash. $69,500 left now. THOUGHTS??

It's a really interesting question and I'm trying a new tack this year after reading blogs by previous SC winners. Their advice was to trade hard early to make sure you get the in form players in early and not miss the boat. As such, I'm leaving some decent cash in the bank ready to trade, particularly as there's a lot of mature rookie mids around.

Polec, Ellis, Tyson (3rd yr player), Michie, then good rookies in Crouch, Aish, Dunstan, with Beams to (hopefully) come back later. I'm not going near Daisy as using the philosophy as at that price he needs to end up a premo and I think there's many more I'd like into my final midfield than Daisy.

So if I get some risk picks wrong (Caddy, Wright, Webster) I can do some quick fixes. 462k in the bank for me.

As a footnote, I'm not going for the 50k prize though- just want to win my league and considering the first 2 rounds don't count I don't lose too much going softer early. If you want the 50k, I'd disregard my advice!
