I actually like this team, even though it has Higgins!

Although, I think you could drop a mid premo (say Sloane) and replace with Daisy, and use the extra $200k to upgrade Higgins to a $400k+ premo.

I also have Laidler at D6, and are praying he is named...

This team is solid with a few POD.I think it will do well.
Def: You certainly need Laidler to get a game i am just wondering weather he will get the role Mattner played.Hopefully escapes the Vest.
Mids: Sloane is a great POD expect another top year other premiums are great. good selection of rookies i don't think you will miss out by not going for Martin.
Rucks: Good choice here
Fwds: Very good depth here with a risk being Higgins

Cheers for your input. I don't know that dropping sloane and putting that 200k into Higgins would net me more points?

Def: Laidler, langford and langdon no certainties for regular games. Mitchell will drop in value as he has the raines, crowley and hocking tag in first 3 weeks. Hanley has a very tough draw and doesnt score well against good sides.
Mids: Great but too many round 8 premiums. Crouch prob wont get a game early.
Rucks: Perfect
Forwards: Weak. Caddy at F4 is very risky. Higgins is too injury prone. Kennedy-Harris wont score well as a starter on your field. Lloyd and honeychurch wont get a game early.

Hows bout these swaps?
d-Mitchell to Bartel, Hanley to S Thompson f-Caddy to Hawkins and Higgins to Rohan. The other forward rookies I will look at when teams are named, praps one of them to Lincoln McCarthy or something?

M- Ablett, Swan, Rockliff, Sloane, Beams, Michie, Polec, Ellis (Dunstan, Crouch)

F- Dangerfield, Petrie, Wingard, Hawkins, Rohan, Kennedy-Harris (Lloyd, Honeychurch)

Obviously keeping an eye on whos named and not and adjusting where necessary round 1.

i think you need to re structure a bit i wouldn't want to rely on the 3 forward rookies to get games and same thing in defense

and not sure why you have Hawkins over Caddy

thanks killbluff, with current team i would be relying on 2 rookies in defence and forward to play. I think 99% of teams will also be relying at least 2 in each position to get games. Theres just not enough loot in the salary cap not to. And yer Hawkins/Caddy, that will probably change back and forward for a bit. but they say he's now fit, and a fit hawkins should make at least 100k

I like the hawkins pick. He was injured last year hence the low scores but if you look at the year before he averaged like 95 or so and he has had a great pre season. I think you should downgrade mitchell to kade simpson and hanley to thompson. Any of hawkins or caddy is fine. Then keep higgins and upgrade lloyd to rohan
