With all the rookie dramas this year I have been reluctantly forced to look at the cheap rucks Sandi is the obvious standout and after the first NAB game for the Saints Hickey was not looking that bad , but after yesterday with him and Longer sharing the duties they both posted rubbish scores do you think that they will persist with that or Hickey will be given the number 1 ruck position interested to hear peoples thoughts ?

I had Hickey in my side until yesterday. I think that he and Longer will share the ruck duties so neither of them will be the actual number 1 ruck but rather an even share of ruck duties.

If I was to pick either of them I would want at least an 80 average up to the byes. I'm not sure either of them will manage that so I'll be steering clear.

Yeah very disappointing. Real potential to go 90 + as a number 1 ruck I reckon.

So who are your alternatives if you don't go for one of the Saints boys?

Well cotch9 I am still planning to have 1 good ruck with Sandi after that eye opening game he played but the rookies are dropping like flies especially in the forwards so in a worst case I may have to get another cheaper ruck and I think Grundy just about ruled himself out after his last game and I am a tiger supporter so Hampson may be one to look at cheers

Well ben I have to admit I having been chowing down on a fair amount of humble pie after stating that I was going with gun rucks but there is no other way without changing my team to much , still hope to have 1 good ruck with Sandi but the rookies are turning out to be a challenge for everyone and another cheap ruck is starting to look a bit bleak any ideas ?

Yeah it's really tough to pick R1. By far the hardest pick in the entire team this year in my opinion.

I can only afford an R1 below 470k as a result of the lack of cheap rookies and an abundance of good value 150k - 250k players such as Tyson, Michie, Polec, Rohan etc.

So I will end up going for Lobbe, Pyke or Jacobs I think. I know one of them will go 100 + but I don't know which one!

Got a feeling they will be both named for round 1 and if that is the case I will forget about Hickey as you will not know who gets the most ruck duties or if they are shared till the game is underway which is to late
