Like it Zip and maybe used as an incentive payment to be paid to players after completing 5 years at the club as a bonus payment. Would be nice and handy with contract renewal time for Qld and NSW clubs.

Basically it all comes from the grass roots. They need to get more young people into the sport from a young age! Clinics etc..

=More local better players for Brisbane and Sydney sides to get.
=More supporterss($$$$$) for the clubs.

Not sure whether you were aware noto but because of concessions given to Gold Coast Brisbane were not able to priority access the QLD Academy until this year where we picked up Johnno Freeman.
Did not mind though as Suns need to include local players.
Brisbane have 10 Qld born players on their lists atm (includes rookies)
So basically like NSW we still need AFL assistance to develop the game but we are making progress especially in schools that are now also playing AFL.

Yeah for sure!! Its an area for plenty of growth. Especially in NSW! Just got to convince the kids footy(afl) is so much better than rugby!

This is the exact idea, and the Swans have only been doing the academy properly for 3years. Gonna take 10 years for that to show real fruit as far as getting the states best athletes  on board.
