Mids - Ablett, Pendlebury, Fyfe, D Thomas, C Young, Karnezis, McDonald, Cachia, X Ellis, Honeychurch

Rucks - Pyke, Grundy, Sandilands, Longer

Forwards - Dangerfeild, Roughhead, Sylvia, Fasolo, Bock, Garlett, Rohan, M Clarke

I like my backs and Rucks, but feel that the Mids and forwards might need a little tweek, the first three on each line are keepers but the others are shaky.

Hi mate.  Here is my 2 cents worth:

Defence - Too weak.  Need to get another premium like S Mitchell, S Thompson, E Enright or J Mcveigh to strengthen it up a bit. 
Mid: Fyfe - great POD, but once again too weak I think.  You need another premo.  C Young as M5 - swap him for a premo please!!!
Rucks:  sorry but 3/10.  Good players but SC strategy wise there is way too much $$$ wasted on the bench,  pick 2 solid rucks and 2 rookies.That extra $$ allows for another premium somewhere in your side. You dont need 4 playing rucks.
Forwards:  Ok, not great and not much depth.  danger and roughie good.  Not sold on Sylvia, especially as F3 and after that is rookies.  Need to make stronger.  Consider Sylvia> Dustin martin and trade 2 rucks for rookies and get another good player in your forward line.

don't mean to be rude but keep Ablett, Pendles and Danger and delete the rest and start again.

Thats not to say the likes of Suckling and co shouldn't be there but you need to rethink everything bar the 3 i mentioned above.

Takes time and many revisions to get a team right... unfortunately you are looking to be at the very start of your homework, if you weren't then there are about 6 or more players you would just not have in your team

For the backs you need one of, if not both, mitchell & mcveigh. DPP are critical as they can save you trading. Swallow is a good POD who has had a great preseason. Gwilt is no good so I'd drop him. Mids Id drop young and Karnezis and pick up a premo of your choice as well as James Aish who will be a gun. Rucks I'd keep Sandi and Grundy then get rid of the other 2 and pick up one dpp (brown) as well as another rookie. Fwds need major work. Danger, Rough, Garlett and Rohan are the only ones you should really keep. All the rest could and should go. Look at a Wingard or Perhaps a Tom Mitchell if you want a POD. By all accounts Dusty is killing it so maybe give him a look in. Hope this helps you out and good luck

Def: Premo short here- need 3 premos and one of Swallow/Suckling.  7/10

Mid: Solid mid- Fyfe POD- downgrade Aish to Ellis- C.Beams names to play GC next week and if plays rd 1 is a lock IMO. 9/10

Ruck: Tick here with R1,R2- Brown and Nankervis will not play in Round One look at Currie/Derickx. move Thurlow to ruck. 7/10

Fwd: Major problems here- need to get rid of Varcoe and Chapman- downgrade one to a low mid pricer i.e Higgins/Lamb/Fasolo or a rookie then upgrade Chappy to someone like Buddy. 5/10

Overall- a lot of work to do before round one: 28/40

Looking better i think.
Ihave McDonald in the Mid because he is  DDP as well as Brown (FWD) and Thurlow (Ruc) for the same reason.
Shaw , Aish and Rohan are optional but i think the others look good.

Ignore DPP at this stage you can move them around later

I would only play 1 rookie defender on the field this season and that is McDonald
Shaw - If thats H.Shaw then there are better options, he will be tagged at GWS

IMO this season you cant really afford to start with 2 of Ablett/Pendles/Swan you need to free up some cash so that your not playing 2 rookies each in DEF and FWD

Mcveigh/Mitchell same as above

Ok have replaced Shaw with Simpson, Mcdonald is now in defence, cutler is gone and now i have Dunstan and Moribito on the bench, plus replaced Fasolo with Bock and moved Garlett forward and have taken no consideration about DPP's.

Bock - Wont play R1
Garlett - Wont get many games and if he does will be vested
Morabito - Hasnt played a game in about 2 years cant see him getting a game early or scoring well
Fuller - Doesnt look like getting a game
Aish - C.Beams is a better option
Kolo - Injured atm

Your team currently as % of salary:
FWD - Top 2 = 11.5%
MID - Top 2 = 13.8%
DEF - Top 2 = 11.3%
TOTAL - 36.6%

In order to strengthen the lines a bit your going to have to free up some cash, IMO all of the 6 choices will be top 5 in their positions but you need to look for the one you reckon will improve. The current guys wont go up in value but they could very well drop I would look at downgrading 2 of them to a player 50-100k cheaper and using that to up grade 1 of your def and fwd rookies

EXAMPLE
kolo -> georgiou (If he gets elevated off the rookie list) = +95k
McVeigh -> Enright/Hanley = +66/56k
Pendles -> Rocky/Cotchin  = +92/114k

That combined with your current 47k gives you around 300k to stenghten your lines, its about finding the balance and value to start particularly this year, check the player discussion forums you will find out info on who looks like improving who represents best value etc
