I think most people would suggest instead that you have a R/F in your forward line like Dixon, and a R/F like Thurlow on the ruck bench, use the DPP as injury cover. However the upside I can see of going with all 3 of HMac, Sandi and Hickey is that they could all potentially make you money, which I don't see someone like Dixon achieving. But it's a bit of a risk and a lot of money to have on the bench, you could spend a similar amount by having Lobbe Sandi and Nankervis I would think...
Exactly what I'm thinking mate. Atm I have that spare cash so I'm considering this as an option. That way I'm generating more cash rather than it just sitting there.

If your worried bout Dixon....ya could have a go with Majak as a mid priced forward option, supposedly killing pre-season according to Scott and has the potential to make decent coin
Not sure Majak's JS is that great tbh

i dunno, apparently Roos are looking to play 2 rucks this year, and you would think Daw is ahead of Currie for that spot given how powerful he is when up forward and will out jump anyone in the centre bounces to. I think he's a little roughy in the mid-priced forwards and saving over 200K if your unsure on Dixon's injury past but still want cover in case Sandi goes down early. Would be a brave pick still though i admit haha

Dixon as cover makes the most sense as stated, but as well as being an injury risk i am also not 100% sure i can bank on him getting 95+ average which would be the minimum requirement for a guy priced at 487k.

Can anyone help convince me he will score well if fit? or were those 5-6 games of 130,123,77,103,142 at the start of last season just anomaly.

FORGOTTEN Geelong ruckman Hamish McIntosh could be in line for a shock round one return.

After a raft of injury setbacks, including knee, ankle and Achilles problems, McIntosh is set to play his first game in the blue and white hoops in the NAB Challenge against Melbourne in Alice Springs next Friday.

With a practice match against North Melbourne to follow, McIntosh could be in line for the Cats' season opener at home to Adelaide.

Bloody copy and paste, just go to the link and read it ya selves ;)

Dont know if i'm leaning more towards him with saying he will be playing alongside simpson. Or less because it highlights his time out of the game. Has me wondering if his body can hold up 8 straight weeks to the byes without being rested.

Take him at your own peril, you may find that Dawson Simpson may be the Cats number 1 ruckman right now, Joel Selwood loves him.

HMac is great news for him and the Cats but I can't pick him AND Sandilands AND Dixon.

Who knows how Chris Scott will manage Simpson + HMac? They WILL be both managed.

This article is 10 days old, but I don't think it has been posted here (apologies if it has)

Chris Scott confirms both Simpson and Hmac will be managed and will not play every game

Based on that I just don't think he is worth the risk - if he gets rested you need to have a ruck bench option playing or potentially sideways him - and both of those options are no good imo

Too risky going with both Hmac and Sandi, therefor I'm not even considering Hmac even if named rd 1

Good luck picking HMac..that's all ill say.
