my attitude to commenting is...

i only comment if i have something worth saying
i comment people who have commented on my team
i comment as many teams as i can
i only comment on teams i can improve
i never comment because i am a cocksucker
i dont comment but i expect others to comment on me

after some recent frustrations, observations and conversations, i thought maybe i should point out an interesting fact.

many coaches come on here, post their team, and hit the refresh button hoping for people to spend their time commenting and helping them improve. i make a point only to offer comments on those teams which the coach has actively offered feedback on other teams (positive or negative). i know that there are a lot of other coaches out there who do the same thing.

dont just expect people to comment on you without reciprocating  >:( . how about while you are waiting for someone to comment on yours, you open up other teams and rate them.

rule of thumb, lets say you rate as many teams as you hope to get feedback for yours.

doing this will create a more interactive forum, get more interest from coaches, and get more diverse points of view.

if you are not willing to comment, do not post a team expecting comments.  :)

i think it's past your bedtime buddy. you got a big day at school tomorrow!  :D  :D

Yes to all that hespey. Noting from other recent posts of yours, I tolerate a lot of typos, but maybe 6 in one post is too many.

Also, I strongly recommend polls to rate teams - ppl can get & give feedback quickly that way, and only comment if they've really got something useful to say.

I comment on a few a day.  They start to blur into one after that.

I look for the ones without comments too.

However, because I do that I don't need to post my team.  By commenting on others it helps you work out your team.  Also my team will not be ready until teams are named for round one.

I do think people should look at a few teams already posted before posting theirs.  There are enough teams and they are all so similar it won't take long to suss out what is good and what isn't.

How many comments are required per post?

Prospector_1

How many can most "rate my team" folks take in at one time?

i dont think it is so much about the quantity of posts, but more on the quality of the feedback.

if you think someone has done well, it only takes a few seconds to validate the team.

if someone has picked a train wreck, be honest. either list the players you dont like, or you can be more in depth and say why you dont like them. if you want, go one step further and suggest replacements.

if someone has already responded something similar to what you think, its probably not worth stating, unless you want to emphasise the point.

Another frustration is people who post a team, change it, repost, change it again and repost.  All in half an hour.  You waste your time commenting on a team that no longer exists. >:(

haha thats a good point. very annoying. but at least if you are providing some insight, others can take that on board as they read through the forums, and hopefully not make the same mistake.

its good to see that not much bogus information is provided to give fellow supercoaches bum steers. that is something i thought might be rife in a forum like this.

I must admit I used to just post my team and just hit refresh..  :-[

But since I have been putting in a lot of research for my team, I really wanna share that knowledge with people and help them better there team.

I agree with everything you said Hespey. People, it's simple. Dont sit back and just hit refresh like I used to, help a brother out and post while you wait.

Roger that, Caveman.

hespey

thanks caveman. i assume many people follow this progression.

but sometimes if you point it out, people might see some personal responsiblity a bit sooner and start reciprocating comments and feedback earlier.

I only post when I have something to say. I struggle to post for teams that don't look any different to other teams posted, but even then will try!

Best of luck for everyone in the season ahead anyways!
