In my current configuration I'm playing with the notion of L McDonald in a spot where I could have Suckling. Wondering whether anyone had thoughts on relative merits - both likely to be cashies, not keepers. Thanks for help. Cheers :)

Both will be in my team, I'm struggling to find defensive rookies that will play

Holz

same as specky92 limited cheap options down back and these guys are the best 2. If mcodnald is named round 1 he is in my squad. Suckers will be in as he could push keeper status.

It depends if Scott wants to continue his cautious approach to rookies like he has done in the past we might not see much of McDonald in the first half of the season.

I dont beleive mcdonald is worth 180k but a decent option if u need another cheap defender. Only averaged 60 in the VFL last season so can't see him doing much better in the AFL.

Suckling, on the other hand, is an absolute lock. Could easily average over 90 and only 100k more.

Ricochet

Suckers is a lock. LMac is a wait and see.
TBH i'm praying for some cheaper defender rookies to start getting mentions in preseason updates. It's looking thin back there for round 1

I agree Suckers would be a definite lock especially with McDonald still unseen. Finding Rookie defenders will be difficult but some may crop up.  Hoping Fuller has a good pre-season as a mature age and hope he can replicate the mature age rookies of previous years.

Jroo

Suckling is a lock and will be a keeper.
If McDonald gets game early then you'll make a lot more cash with him.
So seeing as you're not looking for a keeper, but he best player to make cash quickly, McDonald is your man if he's named round one.

Have both Suckling and MacDonald at the moment and if both selected for rd.1 they stay in. Have also taken Weller as a cheapie. Anybody have thoughts or knowlege on him ??    ;)

Weller was taken by Saints in the rookie draft.  he was delisted by the Suns after playing only 4 games for them.  So he needs to be elevated off the rookie list to play games and at $280k would not risk it.

Surprised a little taco girl hasn't been posted yet  :-X

Thanks for the comments. Most helpful. Hadn't been thinking of suckling as a keeper, but if he goes as well as hoped, then no doubt that's what'll happen. I'll wait and see with McDonald. Round 1 will reveal a lot!  ::)
