The Dockers had a clear strategy for this draft period which was to stock up on talls. They picked up Michael Apeness (201cm) and Alex Pearce (199cm) with their first two picks in the national draft as they seek to find a long-term replacement for Matthew Pavlich. Brady Grey provides something different as a small outside midfielder to compliment the Dockers big bodies inside. They also picked two players over 189cm in the rookie draft.
