Would it be worth going for pick no.1 ?
Hurley and ryder have both been known to play well down back, keep hooker and pears. Not a massive hole would be left, and god knows we need a cemented foward line. Try and lure chappy to play his twilight years in the fwrd pocket, give some direction and leadership for the kids. Bomber and egan would make the transition easy for him, flower i'd even offer him a coaching role to default into when he is done.
GWS seem like they'd be more desprate for key players without buddy.

Most of time draft periods are tame on the essendon front (apart from last year) but it's always nice to dream

But they have openly said they want him, and i'm assuming it'd be package deal. Maybe add a draft pick from WB or FREO (gumby cramer)
