How would you get trades back that happened before round 1?

And GAJ prob won't even play the NAB cup :P

Because I have subsequently traded in SJ and Goldy, with the way the season panned out there is no way I would have traded in Sauce and Buddy... Ergo if I had started with SJ and Goldy that would be 2 less trades used from my 30 for my now finished team...

I think if he has a good pre-season with no injury setbacks, I'll find it hard not to start with him in my team  :)

I would like to have a starting midfield of Pendles, Watson, Selwood, Dangerfield, Beams.  Then upgrade to Ablett when his price bottoms out.  I think next year is the year to stack your midfield and rucks early.  Use backfield and forward line to blood rooks.

My strategy is usually to load up my forwards with prems/potential break-out mid pricers as there haven't been many great forward rookie picks recently, 50:50 prems:rooks in the mids and relatively prem-light in the backs... Usually pays off, mid rookies tend to make the most cash, though really it depends who is actually going to get game time. Forward rooks who made money this year were mostly M/F anyway.
Defenders always hard to pick, how many of us were ruined by them this year?

I started this year with 3:4:2:4 prems plus some good mid-high priced players (like JJK, Mundy). Defenders and rucks killed me this year. Might go for a set-and-forget Goldy and Minson ruck combo next year (hoping NicNat can be picked as a forward). Defenders, who knows

Ricochet

His current form slump is due to a bruised knee. If he is injury free you would be silly to start without him next year
