To bench the bud or not to bench Bud?

The bloke I'm playing has buddy on the field and he is my M7. A bit scared he could tear me a new one if I don't start him. I can move a fwd/mid to mid and take priddis off or straight swap buddy for a fwd. Will bud fire? Cheers
