Mailman the 2nd

I'll go and try to tier the 18 teams, this is my opinion so go away if you think I put your team in the wrong tier

The actual placing within the tier is basically random
Collingwood
Hawthorn
Sydney
West Coast

Basically the top 4, they'll be there unless major injury strikes.

Adelaide
Fremantle
Richmond
Geelong
Carlton

They should make the rest of the 9. Unlucky draw makes Nm miss out, still don't think Essendon are there yet.

Essendon
North Melbourne
Brisbane

The just outside tier. Brisbane have a great draw, meaning they might be a suprise top 10 spot

Melbourne
Port Adelaide
Gold Coast

I think improvement will be shown through the acquisitions of all these clubs, although Melbourne's future is a mystery atm

St.Kilda
Western Bulldogs
GWS

WB and St Kilda look broken and have a huge haul ahead with the respective problems. GWS should win 2-3 more games than 2012.

Grand Final:

Sydney vs. West Coast

^looking pretty accurate imo mailman :)

I agree with pretty much everything you've said there:

Collingwood, Hawthorn, Sydney, West Coast: the best in the comp, should make up the top 4 like you said.

Fremantle: good draw this year imo, should go further into september under Ross Lyon in his second year.
Richmond: ffs they better bloody play finals this year :-[
Geelong: good acquisitions in trade period, should sustain their success that little bit longer.
Carlton and adelaide: genuine premiership threats.

NM: unlucky to get a harder draw this year, but still not quite there anyway I don't think, as shown by their thumping vs WCE in finals.
Essendon: agreed, not quite there yet either, but 2014 will be a real threat.
Brisbane: I've said it for a whole now, they'll genuinely push for a finals spot in 2013. Probably won't get it, but will be close.

Melbourne and port: both got reasonable draws and, in my opinion, did pretty well I trade period. The revival begins in 2013.
Gold coast: a few gaps still need to be filled, but those bodies will start to mature from here on in and well see improvement next year I think.

Bulldogs and saints: bulldogs very stiff with their draw I think. Didn't get the players they really needed in trade period. Saints are on the downward slide after a period of domination (but unfortunately no success).
GWS: a powerhouse on years to come, but, like gold coast, will struggle in their second season.
