Hi all

2 trades left, $116k, playing this week (so obviously must win), Have Ibbotson, and Clisby and Webster on the bench. Not good.

Thinking of two options - 1) trade Clisby for a playing rookie in the hope that Ibbo is back next week, which would allow me to get any midfielder in for Titchell. Thinking Blee from Port. Cover a donut for a week, would let me go Titch to Jelwood and have Mayes as DPP bench cover. Risky if Ibbo doesn't come back and Blee plays like carp.

More conservative option 2) is to go Clisby to Grimes (or maybe Luke Delaney?), then get Jobe in for Titchell. The only reason I'm against this is that Jelwood has been killing it and is in 2/3 likely finals opponent's teams. Playing the final at the Cattery, could go massive... Blee got himself a 69 vs the cats, playing GCFC this week - very very tempting, Grimes or Delaney may well not do any better for the extra cash...

So, Clisby out for who and Titchell out for who? Will wait for tonights game to start to see if my opponent has made any changes, as his team looks in dire straights too - he also has Ibbo but has Staker to cover, currently eating a midfield donut (or two if either Titch or Barlow get a surprise rest)...

Find out more about Ibbos' injury? Blee could be a sub? Grimes prob wont score that well vs Freo anyway...

Tough choice.

I think you're right that Blee, Grimes, Delaney are all an even money bet to score about the same this week and Selwood seems a better pick-up than Watson at the moment.

However as ubeaut said it's hard to get a read on Ibbo's injury. Has supposed to have played the last 2 weeks so no guarantee he'll be back next week.

Also Kane Mitchell has been dropped so Blee is a higher sub risk than if Mitchell was in the team. Although IMO I think it will be Hitchcock that wears the green.

Yeah looking at the Port interchange I think Blee could well be the sub.
The only info I have on Ibbo is from the freemantle fc website, where they say he's progressing well and was a legit chance to play this week, which if you believe it suggests he must be close to a certainty next week. But Achilles are always dodgy.

Realistically I have until the port game to decide, so I can see Sunday interchanges tonight, see who the Port sub is, see what changes my opponent has made, and decide before they start.

If you could wait until you know the Port sub then that would be ideal  :)

Keep in mind that if you ignore Jobes 24 against port his average is more less as good as Jelwoods. He could be a handy little POD come finals. He is less susceptible to a tag and is playing well since he returned. The only worry is if he cops a suspension. Someone more informed might know what the chances are of that?

Yeah, I'm still thinking that Blee plus Jelwood is probably a good bet even if he plays as a sub - kinda depends on my opponent's team!

If I go Clisby to Blee I can afford literally anyone so would probably not take the risk - 150k in the bank with no trades is meaningless. Besides, with my opponents teams there is a spread of Jelwood, Swan and Griffen. I have Swan and Griffen, if I get Jelwood then it means at least one of those 3 would be a POD for me depending who exactly I play.

Mate trade Ibbo, even if he gets up form has been poor and you can afford a better replacement that way

I could do that, but the way I see it is this: Clisby has no chance of playing again, whereas Ibbo could be back, and will have had a spell to freshen up a bit... That's why it's the risky choice, I'm basically gambling that Ibbo will be back next week. I need to make some money to upgrade Titchell, so really none of the options I can afford are spectacularly better than Ibbo has been anyway. Fortune favours the bold, or something like that haha
