Steve Johnson for MID/FWD DPP or Jobe Watson?

SJ's last three opposition and 6 game average - West Coast (101), Sydney (106.5), Brisbane (86)

Jobe Watson's opposition and 6 game average - NM (122), Carlton (101), Richmond (111)

Currents Mids and Forwards:

Ablett, Pendlebury, Swan, Selwood, Griffen, Dangerfield, JPK, SJ/Watson (M Murphy, Hrovat)

Walker, Cox, Bartel, Rockliff, Martin, Franklin (Staker, Benken)

What would you do? Thoughts, opinions, all wanted!

Will cheer by the way! Thankyou!

Vinny

Hmm tough one Wato !

Although you already have solid cover, I would go with Johnson. The extra cover could still save you come finals.

Plus with SJ last three fairly solid, I think they should average similar.

I don't think you should worry too much about past records as players change form and Johnson has had one hell of a year.

Good luck mate ;)

It is mate! Now that Clisby is out I may need to go SJ just in case.

That's true, SJ is playing some good football.

Cheers mate, can always count on you!

Vinny

No worries champ!

Yeah I am in trouble now that Clisby is gone too. Wilson is my other benchwarmer and he was subbed with injury I believe.

Bring on next year haha.

Watson's leading the poll.. Confused now as to who to go.

Still think SJ because of the link, allows me to do so much more.

Any more thoughts?

If you get SJ, would you be playing him in the mids, or switch him with Bennedy and play him over Buddy?
I honestly think Watson is a better choice, but if you were to have a forward out, then SJ's dpp would be very handy indeed.

roo boys!

Yeah agree with vinny I reckon, DPP is valuable at this time of the year, particularly with BKen down there too you may be able to exploit some emg loophole etc.

Also look for SJ to go big in Rd23 at the Cattery when you'll hopefully be playing off in a granny!

Doubt their scoring will be that different at the end of the day, 5 ppg max and if that allows you to have the extra flexibility between M/F it's extremely handy.

Speaking from personal experience I wish I had a mid/fwd link, my two links are fwd/def (Staker, Oxley) and ruc/fwd (McBean, Roughy, Cox) and I've exploited them a fair bit in the last few weeks, either to get better coverage, trade for a better player or exploit emergency loopholes (the first time I benched Nicholls I planned to take his score using McBean if he went well, if not swing Cox into the rucks and Staker can come on for McBean), turns out that week was the one Nicholls got injured and got a 30 and even though Staker didn't go massive it still helped avoid the carnage.

Once you have this link you may be able to do similar things with Benny Kennedy along with the 4 others in your fwd line with DPP status.

Blues Blues Blues

Tough call mate, I haven't voted but would probably go for SJ due to DPP. Plus with this Asada sanction looming who knows what it will mean for bombers. I think Watson will probably score more, but the DPP is so valuable. I currently have a forward line staked with MID/FWDs but none in the midfield, so looking to possibly fix come rd 22.

Plus, as RB has said, SJ at the cattery rd23 could be very helpful!

Good luck mate!

I'm thinking ill play him in the Mids but play it by week.
I've got plenty of emergency loophole options now, DPP, which will all become very handy.

So at this stage it's Franklin v Murphy for this week?

Thanks for all the comments aswell lads, all appreciated.

 :)
Very simple ,  if Essendon cop sanctions you go S J  but if AFL leave results of enquiry until rd. 23 ( which I'm sure they will ) you go Watson.
I'm a Tiger supporter but it would be very un Australian to take off points this year as punishment for something that occcured last season. But the AFL do appear to consider themselves as God- like figures. Best of luck mate.    ;)

I want Watson as he is super cheap but SJ is the better pick due to his DPP. Now Clisby is out ill be relying on Staker to fill two emergency positions, and if one of my defenders gets struck down as well as a forward I'd be copping a donut, which would be terrible in these circumstances. Thanks for the in put mate, but I'm pretty much sold.

Watson usually but cos of ur situation with DPP and Staker go SJ.
