Hi all, have come to the FF community for a 2nd opinion with my trading dilemma.
I have got 3 trades left and $47k in the kitty.
All week I have had Dusty locked into my fwd line for Nic Nat however upon going over my team and coverage for future finals games I have come across a sticky situation where I am unsure on what to do.

To paint the picture,

RUCK Goldstein, Cox emer Currie, McBean

FWD S Johnson, Bartel, Rockliff, Zorko, Cloke, Nic Nat emer Franklin, X Richards

With my first trade I am planning on picking up Dixon for Goodes.

Now the sticky situation is with my ruck division, if one of Cox or Goldy get rested/injured I will most likely have a donut in my ruck division so I was thinking if Nic Nat turns into Roughie this will give me exceptional coverage on all lines and I can potentially save that last trade for an exotic upgrade or if any of my big guns go down.
I am not sure on Roughie though, his scoring has been woeful the last few weeks and as for Dusty he is in career best form who can go big.

My finals opponent has both Roughie and Martin as well, which ever player I pick up I counter compensate that POD.

Which player would you guys go for?

Will cheer for advice

In your particular situation I would be going for Roughy over Martin purely so you can get that coverage for your rucks. You would be stuffed if Goldy or Cox miss a game. Roughy has had a lean couple of weeks but I would back him in to turn that form around. A fortnight ago everybody wanted him in their team.

St Kilda have the backline that could be taken apart by an U16's team at the moment with all their injuries, so roughie should be a safe bet tonight at least. You need cover for the rucks so I think it's fair enough to get him

I don't see Goldstein getting a week off without Currie coming in tbh. They might bring in Daw and have him share ruck duties with Goldy but I wouldn't think Goldy just gets a week off. So I'm not sure that's such a worry really.
Having said that, can you affor Dustbin? Must be pretty close, NicNat 450k, Dustbin 510k. Do you make enough from Goodes to Dixon?

Assuming yes, I would consider that Roughy has a BE of 138, Dustbin 85. If you get in Dustbin you must have close to zero cash left, but you'll still have the chance of getting Roughy in a couple of weeks if results go your way. If you get Roughy this week, it's a guaranteed loss of money and no chance at Dusty later.

I would get Dusty and hope Roughy has another average week or two.

I have the exact coin to get dusty & Dixon in.
You bring up a good point with currie, surely he gets a go if goldy has a spell or gets injured.
All week I have been leaning towards this option, just the coverage factor has me considering rough.
Thanks for your input :)

Was thinking along the same lines, but is Martin a must have going into finals?
Got some real favourable games coming up. Could go really big in the prelim.

For me personally I think Dustbin has used this season to elevate himelf out of my "never again" list. I still don't think I will get him in but that's more circumstance than choice really, I have 7 forwards :P If I was in need of a forward I think he'd be right up there. Not quite a must-have I don't think, I think the only must have forward is SJ. Rocky looking good but SC Final vs Geelong at the Cattery could be painful...

I got burnt by dusty last year in the gf when he scored 19, lost by 30 odd points.
However watching him over the last few weeks he has really elevated himself out of my never again list, thinking to give him a chance.
Roughie can only serve me well this week, I fear he will dish up some shockers after this round, could end up being a liability.
