Trent Cotchin ($503,900)
Has tonned up in 4 of his past 5 games. Has scored greater than 130 in two of his past three games.
He's in good form against quality opposition. 137 vs Hawthorn and 144 vs Freo.

So how will he go during the finals?
He plays three of the remaining games at the MCG where he scored his 137 and 144.
rd 20 vs Bri (MCG). Has tonned up in two his past three games against Brisbane.
rd 21 vs Car (MCG). Has tonned up ALL of his past three games against Carlton including TWO above 115.
rd 22 vs GWS (Skoda). Scored 87 in his only game against GWS. Surely he can top that.
rd 23 vs Ess (MCG). GRAND FINAL WEEK. Scored 99 earlier this year against Essendon but scored TWO above 140 before that. Bang!

Or Jobe Watson for 160k cheaper. ;)

was looking at him tbh man.

What are your thoughts...first game after a month off and in a team that got kinda smashed and still managed 110+
Was going titch/nicholls to beams/grundy but what you reckon on something like ibbo/eski/grimes and titch for watson/hanley...

which is better...whats the reall difference between watson and beams (or griff for the matter :P)

cheers

I really like him, reckon he's an absolute bargain that will get overlooked by many because of all the Beams' hype. I was planning on bringing in Beams myself, but I just can't get ignore a star like Jobe for 160k cheaper.

And yes, I know points are much more important at this stage of the season, but I don't think Jobe will be too far off Beams and the extra cash could come in very handy during finals.

Still not sure if I'll do it though, because if Beams continues to pump out these big scores, I'll be the only one who suffers. :P

Please don't compare Dayne Beams to Trent Cotchin!

Sure Trent might seem ideal and maybe he is but, just search options first?

Same boat. Most of my opponents now have Beams, so it's risky.
He has a nice record vs his next 2. He's tonned up 3 of his last 4 vs the Eagles, and North is his 2nd best team by average. Both at Etihad which he loves. However, then it gets worse. Carlton is one of his worst opponents, he only had 77 earlier this year from a Cachia tag, and will surely be tagged again. Then Richmond is a bit up and down.

Bit too risky, especially with that record v Carlton I think.

Jobe Watson and Dayne Beams are chalk and cheese.

Get Jobe if you want a solid 95-100 average

Get Beams if you want a gun

Don't go Cotchin, you want a sure thing in the finals. Lock in Beams. Imagine you're in 5th-8th in your most important league and you bring in $ to save money for next week for a better upgrade.

You cheap arse it and get Cotchin/Jobe - they score 90 and Beams scores 130

You lose by 30. You fail at life.

RE: Jobe

Before Jobe's injury he was a 101 average player with 4 scores below 90. You don't want that in your finals campaign. It'll destroy you. 101 is average at best. Just like Jobe.

EDIT: 2,500th post

I did not compare scores between Trent and Dane. It seems most people are trading in Dane. I was exploring other options and thought if people can't afford Dane then I believe that Trent is the next best option. I think Trent will score well during the next month but I never said he will match Or better Danes scores.

The money saved could be invaluable in the coming weeks...

If you're in 5th-8th you've got to make it to the coming weeks first.

Glort

I traded Cotch to Stanton earlier in the year and now I'm thinking of swapping them back  ::)
It's Stanton > beams with Wellingham at M9 Or..... Stanton > Cotchin with Watson M9...
Depending on ibbo's injury and if I stay with the thought of keeping Harbow and Grimes :) My opponent this week has Cotch and no Grimes or Harbrow....
Damn this wound up sounding like a cry for help! But I'm leaning towards Beams/Wellingham :)
