At the moment my last 4 midfield spots are Trengrove and Martin with Banner/Barlow on the bench.

Would it be too risky dropping trengrove and bringing in shuey to the final spot to free up some cash?? I think he will play most games but not necessarily perform better than the other 3 (Banner/Barlow in particular) in DT terms when they are selected.

I am confident Martin will play regularly so this leaves me needing one of Banner, Barlow and Shuey to play each week which to me looks likely on current form.

Obviously this is all reliant on Barlow being upgraded.

got to start round one with 5 good players and 1 rookie not 4 and 2. more consistent if u go with 5 and 1.

Comes down to this i guess.

If you believe your low cost players are gonna get the gametime required to warrant a place on the field when full strength teams are brought out for round1.. and are also confident your low priced players are capable of posting decent scores (70+ min) .. Go for it.  Especially if your cost savings on those players enable you to upgrade to elite players elsewhere on your team.

I've seen some teams with 5 sub 150k players in the midfield.. If these midfield rookies get the required promotions and continue performing as they are. May be a stroke of genius.
