I was thinking of going Birchall - Wilson and Vlas - Swan.

This would leave me playing one of Wilson Thurlow or Doch for a week. I will have 256k which next week hopefully I can go Thurlow - Premo !

What do you think of this or should i make different trades ?

How about Vlas to a rookie mid (take your pick) and put Mitchell on feild, he is scoring well enough to start at M8 for now until he fattens up before upgrading, then Birchall to a defender of your choice (Ibbo, Houli)

Vlastuin for a premo MID and Birchall to Wilson sounds great. Swan is probably the best choice as you already have most of the guns in your MIDS.

Thurlow to a premium DEF next week sounds good too. Hopefully he plays this week so he can make a little bit of extra cash so you can have more premium DEF's to choose from!

The only possible thing I'd do differently is grab Oxley instead of Wilson to give you a link with Staker which could be invaluable come the pointy end of the season. Would also free up just a bit more cash.

The oxley option specky raised is solid, as that DPP with Staker could come in handy, but I'm unsure on his JS. Can anyone shed any light?

Unlikely to have great job security.  The two games he has gotten have been the result of a last minute change due to injury.  I doubt he'll play in the seniors this week as between the vest and the bye (the pies had it at bot levels last week) he hasn't played a full game in a month, though the coaches are big wraps for him.  He could be the safest option if you are low on trades though because at least he links with Staker, whose job security is solid.  I'm not sure any of the Defensive rookies job security is great, particularly the longer the season goes.

Birchall & Vlas to Swan/Rookie is a solid strategy as long as you are able to get a defensive premium next week so that you aren't relying on Docherty/Thurlow/Rookie for D6 for more than a week.
