So Cox is the 2nd highest averaging ruck but the 12th highest averaging forward and you want to keep him in the fwds??  ???  :o

That top 12 forward averages list includes:
Harvey, from 4 games, just played his 5th and scored a 66 so his average of 96 will plummet
Rioli, perma-injured
Westhoff, inflated by his early start and everyone has hopped off

Cox just tonned up. So his 92 average, only 4 points from 6th highest forward average, will now be close to top 6 if not 6th. You can paint the stats to create any picture you want but a consistent, durable Dean Cox is a forward premium. Roughead is the one I'm iffy on.
Yeah Cox is now averaging 93. which is higher than harvey, lewis, westoff so that brings him into number 9 and one above him is rioli who isn't a good pick so in my book he is 8th behind SJ, Nroo, Bartel, Martin, Rockliff, Stokes and Cloke

Forward Keeper: no
Ruck Keeper: yes

I don't understand that. Ruck keeper no, goldy minson who you want in the ruck. Nic Nat and Cox keeper forwards.

All good realise this is dt.

Andrew

Everyone should be planning on having at least 7 premiums in both defence & forward line anyway, going to need cover for late withdrawals late in the season. So in planning for that, I've got Roughead & Cox to flick between both lines with eventually only 1 starting as a ruckman (Kreuzer the other ruck).

For what it's worth, Kreuzer looks like a top 3 scoring ruck from here on :P

Right back where we started ;) but seriously it would be ballsy to pick the hoff

Andrew

Take away Westhoff's first 3 scores against the bottom 3 clubs in the league (a run of fixtures not repeated) and he's way down the list. No one is expecting him to maintain a 90+ average from here, let alone trade him in, so really he's irrelevant to the discussion of who's a forward premium.

Haha yeh. All I'm saying is Cox is the #1 Ruck (excluding Clarke from his 3 or so games) so I believe in having him locked away at R1 when there are fwds that average more than him. If he was a top 7 forward then I would fully agree in keeping him in the forward line.

As it stands if everything goes to plan(no LTI), my rucks and forwards in a month will be
Rucks:Cox, Nic Nat (Roughie, Nicholls)
Forwards: SJ,Nroo, Bartel, Martin, Rockliff, JJK (Zorko, McBean)

Bolded are trades in
NicNat  after r13
Mcbean after r15
Nroo after R16

long term goal!

Very nicely setup and perfectly position to deal with inevitable "managing" of SJ and Bartel. Also JJK might end up being downgrade material, WCE have a tough run post-byes so he might struggle to consistently go 90+ as he has been.

Roughy on your bench really? I think he will score better than JJK.

Yeah I think Roughie deserves a spot in your best 22 :) How many people are expecting to bench premiums this season? It never really occurred to me but it seems pretty legitimate, the only thing that would bother me about it is if my benched premiums outscored my fielded premiums but in the end that would be much better than sideways trading a premium for a better one only to get bitten in the ass :) What is other takes on this?? It seems like a much better idea than I had in mind

My aim is to get as many premos as I can up till round 18-19 then in DT finals start sidewaying rested players and such

haha yeah I'm going to start doing that as well. I've turned down a number of cheap premiums this season. I was going to complete my team and which ever rooks were on the pine would be for the rest of the year with the exception of upgrading my worst premiums to better ones :) I like your idea a lot better though more security and no risk of backlash. Much stronger progressive thinking mate ;)
