Staton's BE, Is he just too tempting?

Some people make me crook, yes I for one wasn't happy with his performance, but those saying ''Glad I didn't get him'' or ''Why did I pick him'' are being greedy and ridiculous. He's an absolute gun and like has been discussed in is thread not many people can handle tags except for the Pig and Gaz. He's just busted out back to back 140s and got tagged tonight, he won't get much cheaper and has GC next week. By the end of the year most people bagging him in this thread will end up getting him in anyway....

I  for one am not saying that Stanton is not a good player he is , if he is left to do what he can do he will take you apart like he did with Richmond with no tag ( BAD COACHING ) tonight Carlton tagged him like Brisbane did and he little effect , and that is like most players that are tagged except for only a few .

100% agree! It's a similar situation to Deledio, birchall, Hanley and Hartlett, he can be so damaging with his possession that clubs tag them. Although I would expect Stanton to be able to get some tackle points if his uncontested footy is being dried up ( if he could turn that tagged 52 into a 75-85 you would take that as long as it isn't week in week out!)

Ill probably get on him just don't want to pay big money like I did last year only to have him sitting on the bench with Sam Gibson ahead of him!

Either way he still made some cash but he can't handle certain tags. I know what you mean about ending the season with Sam Gibson over Stants. Last years Grand Final I decided in good faith to play Rockliff over Gibson. Gibson scored 130 and Rocky scored in the 60's  >:( This could be a sign of things to come  :-\ As long as he can reach the 110 BE next week he'll still have his place in my team but like everyone is saying (I brought him in this week) we should all be cautious with him. First sign of dropping dump him!!!

This was clearly a good tag because a vast majority of Stanton points are uncontested kicks so we can't call this a red alert but if he doesn't reach his BE next week I won't hesitate :)

I certainly will not be getting him all season, can say that with absolute confidence. Hate how easy he is to tag out of the game, and unlike other mid premos who will at least give you 70s or 80s when given a hard tag, he gives 50s and 60s. Not for me, even if that means missing out on 130s.

I want to know where the Stanton that was meant to have turned the corner over the pre-season went. His contested footy was meant to increase alot this year, yet it looks like Essendon have given up on that and he's back to being an outside player. :(

While I was not happy with his score last night it really pisses me off when people say "shower pick up" or "was never going to get him" after this one blemish on what has otherwise been a great season.

I have said I wouldn't get him all year, including this week and last week. I will stick to my word, reasonably happy with my midfield and do not want him even if it means missing out on a couple of big scores.

Fair enough henry there are some people who probably are turned off by his inconsistencies and never consider him, BUT I hate it when people come out of their shell after one bad score. ;)
