If anyone can watch tonight's episode of 360 check it out. They break it down fairly well
I found the Tour de France comparison interesting

For those that didn't see it

http://www.foxsports.com.au/AFL/afl-360-did-jobe-go-rogue/video-e6frf33l-1226669819124?subcat=1225914646252&site=FoxSports

Robbo states that Watson's manager and EFC were shocked he made the comments. They also state that Watson had gone rogue after being advised to make no comment.

I think Jobe has well and truly had enough of the investigation. He is an intelligent person and this was very deliberate, not a slip up. He truly believes he is in the clear and in my mind this was his way to speed to the process up.

In my opinion it will come down to inconsistencies between ASADA's and WADA's policies and advice they have given to medicoes and sporting clubs about them. There have been statements made that both clubs and doctors were advised by ASDADA that these substances were legal, when infact they were banned by WADA.
lf this is the case responsibility should lie with ASADA, in which case l wouldn't be surprised to see WADA appeal the decision and bring down a finding against Essendon.
But if that were to happen don't be surprised if Essendon challenge the decision in court.........which l think they'd be a big chance of being successful due to the inconsistency of policies and advice given by WADA and ASADA

*not very well explained but you get the gist of what l mean

I can't believe the AFL is allowing him to play this weekend. He has certainly brought the game into disrepute, in spite of his best intentions.
Considering he is the reigning Brownlow medallist and sells a showerload of merchandise (top few in the league) I doubt they would ban him unless they had to.

I like Jobe as a person/footballer, but I don't think selling merchandise should have anything to do with it really

I couldnt agree more, and I do think he is the victim of a wider scandal whose cause lies fare and squarely with the Coach and his team. However, that wont save him from ASADA and nor should it. Strict liability is their for a reason, and it should be applied without prejudice - no matter who your father is or how many medal's youve won.

I'm shocked that Demetriou is yet to comment on this matter, every minute he waits he makes himself look weaker and less in control. A decisive decision is whats needed, not to protect Jobe Watson, but to protect the integrity of the sport entirely!

but in Jobe's defense
if he was told by Doc Reid that it was legal of course he'd believe him
Reid has worked at essendon since 1982 so not only is he really respected at essendon
but also considering Tim watson started at essendon in 1977 but after retirement  came back for 93/94
point im getting at is Jobe was born in 1985 so he would of know doc reid from a young age

Of course it shouldn't, but the AFL is a business and will ultimately make decisions with money in mind. Jobe is one of the main drawcards for one of the most profitable clubs in the entire league, so it will come into consideration.

Make a knee-jerk decision and risk disenchanting 60,000+ supporters of the game? I doubt Andy will want to do that.

Don't get me wrong, I don't think this is right, but it's the way it works... (not to say we won't be punished in the future).
