With the loophole can i put the C on a player with a by then my vc will get double pts all do i have to put the C on a player whos team is playin this week but that player is out

I know how to do the loophole i was just wondering can you do it with a by player or do u have to pick a team that hasnt got the by and that player aint playing for example can i put the C on Cotchin and VC on Stevey J if i like Stevey J score or do i have to put the C on Lonergan Suns are playin but his not cause his injured

This will explain the rules and my interpretation is that you can put the C on a bye player as they are not locked until bounce of final game.
